“Lynette, if you are unhappy with me, I am
willing to cut ties with Horace forever.”
Clarissa’s voice choked with sobs.
As she straightened up, she stumbled and fell.
What a brilliant performance.
She missed her calling in life.
Horace rushed to help her, glaring at me.
く
“Lynette, how could you? I can’t believe this.”
He raised a hand to strike me.
I dodged it and slapped him across the face.
The bastard was cheating on me and wanted
to hit me.
Did he think I was his punching bag?
“How dare you hit me?” Horace gasped,
clutching his cheek.
I gave him a cold smile.
“You had a six–year–old son while we were
married for only five years. You don’t deserve
to be standing in front of me, you pathetic
excuse for a man.”
く
I pulled up the video and sent it to him.
Horace looked at the screen, his lips
trembling.
e
“What does this mean? I am your husband.
How can you suspect me like that?”
“He calls you “Daddy“. You keep denying it.
You are the most stubborn person ever.” I
snickered.
“Did your sweetheart Clarissa send me the
video by mistake?“ ̈
Clarissa bit her lip.
“Honey, I wanted to send it to you, but I sent
it to Lynette. I am so sorry. Do you blame
me?”
L
“It’s all right, Clarissa. This is not your fault.”
“It’s all a trivial thing. She’s making a big fuss
over it.” Horace frowned at me.
“Lynette, you disgust me. You’re no better
than an evil witch for judging other people.”
He was raising a love child with his mistress,
and he called me evil?
The truth was, finding out that Horace had
been cheating on me for years was a relief.
My love disappeared with the revelation.
But Horace’s twisted words made my blood
boil.
“So he is not your child? Am I mistaken?” |
<
“So, he is not your child? Am I mistaken?” I
wondered how he would worm his way out of
this.
“Clarissa doesn’t believe in marriage, but she
wants a child, so I helped her.”
“You are such a saint!” I rolled my eyes.
“Is that your attitude?”
“Lynette, do you have no empathy?”
“She won’t get married, but she wants a child
to spend her life with.”
“She is a woman! What’s wrong with her
wanting a complete life?”
“I’m her best friend. Is it wrong for me to help
く
“Do you want to deprive her of becoming a
mother?”
Horace was shouting at me.
“Horace, as your wife, why are you against
having a baby with me?”
“You insisted you don’t want a child, but you
were just kidding.”
“But you already have a child. He’s six years
old already.”
“How can you have the nerve to say such
nonsense?” I said in disbelief.
Horace frowned.
“You can’t let it go. I am so disappointed in
I gave up trying to reason with him.
“Talking to you is a waste of my breath.”
I sighed.
“I’ll pack up your luggage and the divorce
agreement for you. Get out of my house with
your mistress.” I waved my hand.
Clarissa’s eyes welled up with tears.
“Honey, don’t divorce Lynette. I don’t want
Mikey to ruin your marriage.”
She wanted to make Horace hate me even
more.
Horace put an arm around her and glared at
- me.
L
“Lynette, don’t you want a child? You can
raise Mikey with us from now on. Are you
happy now?”
“Are you serious?”
“I’ll raise your child? Are you dreaming?”
His statement was too outrageous.
Clarissa said, “Lynette, you are so fond of
children. You can call Mikey your son. I don’t
mind.”
“I’m happy that Mikey will have another
person who loves him.”
I questioned whether she had understood me
at all.
く
Clarissa laughed awkwardly.
“If Lynette is still not happy, I don’t know
what to do.”
I cut her off.
“What are you talking about?”
“Who is going to raise an illegitimate child for
you two?”
“Are you out of your mind? Asking your
husband’s wife to raise his child? Did your
brain fully develop?”
I started to head toward the bedroom.
“Lynette, you are turning into a shrew! Look
at yourself!” Horace grabbed my wrist.
く
I shook him off and stared into his eyes.
“I look down on you, Horace. If you were a
man, you’d leave and wait for my divorce
agreement.”
Then, I slapped Clarissa’s face as hard as I
could.
She staggered, her cheek swelling.
“That’s what happens when you show up in
front of the wife.”
“I am only warming up. If you keep faking, I
will hurt you more. Got it?”
“Remember to bring your brain with you.
Don’t come with Horace, got it?”
L
I turned around and ignored her.
Horace roared and raised his fist.
“How dare you hit Clarissa?”
“And you called me a jerk? How dare you?”
As the fist was about to land on my face, I
kicked him in the groin.
“What do you think you are, Horace? I was
being nice when I said you are a jerk. Take a
good look at yourself, you loser.”
Horace clutched his groin, his face pale with
pain.
He glowered at me, afraid to say anything.
く
After the lovebirds left, I had a cleaning
service pack up Horace’s luggage and send it
to him.
The next day, I cheered myself up and went
to work.
