Chapter 4 Get Married
What did he just say?
Madeleine was stunned. She opened her eyes and looked at him, not sure if she had misheard.
“But the surgery…”
He glanced at his wristwatch and said, not explaining at all, “You have five minutes. Don’t dawdle.”
Madeleine was totally dumbfounded.
She presumed the fact that she was carrying twins changed his mind.
Sitting in the car, she was a bit uneasy. She curled up next to the car window, stealing glances at Vincent, who was sitting next to her, from time to time.
His handsome face was devoid of any emotions, which made him look like a robot.
How unfathomable!
In the next second, the driver turned around and reported to Vincent, “Ms. Deleon was hanging around the OB–GYN clinic. Our people steered her away.”
Vincent nodded slightly. “Drive.”
Of course, he wouldn’t really kill his own babies. It was just a smokescreen.

But Madeleine didn’t know what he was planning at all. She asked nervously, “Where are we going?”

Vincent pulled out a stack of papers from his briefcase and handed them to her. “Sign it. Your fingerprint is required, too.”
What was it?
She took the document and was slack–jawed in the next second.
A prenuptial agreement?
What did he mean by this?
She quickly skimmed through the agreement. To put it short, Vincent would marry her, and after she gave birth, they’d get a divorce, and he’d compensate her with 16 million dollars.
16 million dollars would set her, even her family, up for life.
Vincent was so rich!
But…
“I’m OK with giving birth, but could we not get married?”
She didn’t want to be labeled as “a divorced woman“.
In fact, getting married wasn’t what Vincent wanted either, but the Romero family placed the highest importance on the legitimate eldest son.
Thanks to his exceptional talent, he defeated his three older brothers and inherited the family business. Also, another essential reason was that he was the legitimate son.
So, his children must have a legitimate status.

“You want more money?” he asked.
“No!” Madeleine quickly waved her hand.

16 million dollars was something she could only dream of. Why would she want more?
She said, “You have a fiancee, right? She’ll be devastated if she knows.”
No woman in this world would want to see her fiance marry someone else, even if the marriage was essentially just a deal.
Vincent sneered coldly.
The engagement was arranged by his late father. He had never wanted to marry Madilyn.
“That’s none of your business.”
His overwhelming aura was almost suffocating. Madeleine murmured, “But… I don’t wanna get married.”
Was she playing hard to get?
Vincent frowned, his gaze so piercing it seemed to freeze Madeleine.
He said slowly, word by word, “Do not try to play smart with me. Sign it. Or I swear I’ll make you leave Agrafdale without a penny.”
His ruthlessness behind his threatening words sent a chill down Madeleine’s spine.
