Vincent stared at the photos, in which Madeleine smiled sweetly.
Anger surged in his heart, but his face remained icy without showing any
emotions.
“Madeleine is merely an employee of Marvel Jewelry and has nothing to do with me. I have no interest in her private life. Get out.“?
Madilyn didn’t believe him. How could he anxiously carry Madeleine out of the banquet hall if she had nothing to do with him?
“Vincent, trust me. Madeleine is the spy sent by William. We grew up together, and I’m the woman who loves you the most in the world. I’d die for you.”

The driver started the engine.
Madeleine curled up against the car door and glanced at Vincent with fright. His face darkened like storm clouds, ready to explode anytime.
She asked, “Where are we going?”
Vincent didn’t say a word.
“Did I do anything wrong?”
He remained silent.
The air in the car thickened, suffocating her and squeezing her heart into a knot.
The car went to a remote place, and Madeleine was taken into a dimly lit
room.

A woman in black attached sensors to Madeleine’s fingers.
The air turned suffocating, and Madeleine held her breath.

Madeleine answered while stealing glances at the man seated across the room. He had been aloof to her, but today he looked ferocious as if he was ready to tear her apart at any time.

Madeleine felt like she was a criminal being interrogated.
“If the sperm was his, the child must be his.”
“What’s your relationship with William?”
Madeleine was taken aback. Did Vincent also know about this?
Had he been watching over her secretly?

After asking a few questions, the woman in black paused and said, “Final question, have you ever lied to Mr. Vincent?”
Madeleine pressed her lips and swallowed hard. “No.”
The woman in black printed out the test report and handed it to Vincent.
“Mr. Vincent, Ms. Faulkner failed the test.”
Vincent tightened his grip on the paper and crumpled it in an instant.
He rose and strode toward Madeleine, his huge shadow towering over her.
“Do you know the consequences of lying to me?”
He stretched out his strong arm and gripped her chin.
“I… I…….”
Madeleine curled up with fright and shivered. Vincent glared at her with sharp eyes as if he would snap her neck at any time.
“I’ll give you one chance to confess. What’s your relationship with William?”
