Chapter 180
Violet’s POV
The darkness stretched endlessly around me, suffocating. Then, suddenly, I was running. The scent of damp earth filled my
lungs as I ran through the Silver Moon Pack’s forest. The same forest that I had spent countless hours at, but not in a state of
stress, like this.
The trees loomed tall around me, their shadows stretching across the ground. I wasn’t sure why I was here or what I was looking for, but something important kept pulling me forward.
Then, a sound.
A child’s cry broke through the silence, and my chest tightened
without reason.
I turned toward the sound. At the edge of a towering cliff stood
a little boy, no older than five or six. His small frame wobbled,
arms reaching for something unseen. The wind howled around
him, and the loose gravel beneath his feet crumbled, slipping
into the darkness below.
Chapter 180
Fear shot through me like a bolt of lightning.
“Wait! Don’t move!” I called out, my heart hammering against my ribs.
The boy turned to me. His wide, teary eyes were filled with
terror.
“Mommy, save me!” he sobbed, his voice pleading.
I rushed forward, my hands reaching for him just as his foot slipped.
“No!” I screamed, lunging.
My fingers barely caught his wrist as his body dangled over the edge. He clung to me, trembling, his small fingers tightening around my hand with everything he had.
“Hold on!” I cried, pulling with all my strength. But–he was so heavy. Too heavy. His little fingers started slipping. Tears streamed down his pale cheeks. His lips trembled.
“Save me mommy please! I don’t want to die.”
I tried, I tried with everything I had, but his weight was unbearable–like the world itself was dragging him down.
Chapter 180
“No–No, please!” My muscles burned, my nails dug into his skin.
“I won’t let go! I promise!”
But the harder I pulled, the weaker I became.
And then–his hand slipped.
He fell.
His terrified scream echoed as he plunged into the abyss.
I reached out, screaming for him–but there was nothing. Only the empty void swallowing him whole.
I lost him.
My breath seized. My vision blurred. A wave of cold terror
slammed into me-
And then-
I woke up.
Suddenly, my eyes were open, and I sucked in a sharp breath. My heart pounded hard, and my body felt tense, like I had just been falling. I blinked a few times, trying to steady my
breathing, but the heaviness in my chest wouldn’t go away.
Chapter 180
“Violet!” Asher pulled me into his arms. “Are you okay?”
I nodded, shakingly.
He frowned, clearly didn’t buy it. “What happened? Did you
have a nightmare?”
“I–I don’t know. It had felt so real.
Asher leaned back slightly, cupping my face. His golden eyes
were filled with concern. “Do you wanna share what you saw?”
“I. I saw a child.” I swallowed hard, “He was at the edge of a cliff.
he pleaded me to save him. And, I tried to save him, but he was
too heavy. He slipped–he fell-” I still feeling the phantom weight
of the boy’s hand slipping from mine. My throat closed up, I
tightly grabbed Asher’s arm.“I felt he’s our son.”
“Shhh. it was just a bad dream.” Asher wiped a tear from my
cheek with his thumb.
I sucked in a deep breath, “But what if it’s a sign? What if
something happens to our child?”
His expression softened. “Violet, you’re worrying too much.
The baby is safe. You are safe.”
Chapter 180
I hesitated, “But what if-”
“It was just a dream,” he repeated, tucking a stray lock of hair behind my ear. “And do you know what I think?”
“What?”
He smirked. “I think it means you’re worrying too much about having a son.”
I blinked. “What do you mean?”
“You dreamed of a little boy because you’re overthinking. But
honestly? I don’t even want a son. I’d rather have a daughter.
One just like you.”
“But. don’t you need an heir?” I gaped at him.
He shrugged. “An heir can come from anywhere. There are
plenty of capable wolves in the subordinate packs. I don’t want
our child to grow up feeling like they have to be something. I
want them to choose their own path.””
I smiled, warmth spread through my chest, melting the
remaining fear. Asher had always been strong, a warrior, a
king–but in moments like this, he showed the kind of father he
would be. A good one.
Chapter 180
I rested my forehead against his. “You’ll be an amazing father, Asher.”
“Damn right, I will.“He grinned. “Now, feel good?” I nodded.
At this moment, a knock interrupted the moment.
“Asher, is she awake?” Charlotte’s voice came from the door.
Asher stood, opening it for her. Charlotte stepped inside, Philip following closely behind.
The moment I saw her, I hugged her. I had never been the type
to seek comfort like this, but. things were different now.
Charlotte stiffened, taken aback. Slowly, she relaxed and
wrapped her arms around me.
“Hey. Are you alright?” she asked gently.
I nodded. “I am now.”
Mia peeked from behind the doorway, her small hands gripping
the frame. Her eyes were round with worry.
“Come here, sweetheart.” I reached for her,
She hesitated before running into my arms, pressing her face

against my stomach.
“Mommy,” she mumbled.
My breath caught.
It was the first time she had ever called me that.
I stroked her soft curls. “Mia”
She looked up at me, her lower lip trembling. “Are you gonna leave too? Like my first mommy?”
My heart twisted. I pulled her close, rubbing circles on her back. “No, sweetheart. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be here with you, always”
Mia sniffled, nodding against my shoulder. Then, her tiny hand reached down, touching my belly.
“I’ll take care of the baby,” she declared solemnly. “I’ll love him
and help him, just like you take care of me.”
Tears stung my eyes,
I smiled, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “I know you will,
sweetheart. You’ll be the best big sister in the world.”
Chapter 180
Mia grinned, leaning into me.
