Chapter131
Violet’s POV
Waking up in Asher’s arms, I found myself back at the hotel
room with Asher.
I instinctively placed a hand on my stomach. The realization
that I was carrying a life inside me filled me with a mix of
excitement and anxiety. A whole new Chapter was about to
begin, and I wasn’t sure I was ready.
This is why I’ve been distant from you! My wolf’s voice echoed
in my mind.
That makes sense now, I replied. The disconnection from my
wolf had been troubling me, but knowing it was because of the
pregnancy brought some relief.
‘You’ll be an amazing mother, stop overthinking. Her
reassurance made me exhale slowly.
‘I hope you’re right! The weight of my past failures loomed over
me, especially when it came to protecting Mia.

Could I do a good job making sure that she lived in a happy,
carefree family that I never had the luxury to have? That was
what worried me most.
‘You can’t keep looking back. If you do, you’ll miss the beauty of
what’s ahead. Everyone makes mistakes, but that doesn’t define
you. ‘Her words were soft yet firm, making my chest tighten.
I smiled, feeling lighter. Thanks. I’m really lucky to have you
with me through this!
A gentle kiss landed on my cheek, pulling me from my
thoughts.
Asher was watching me, his eyes filled with warmth. “You and
your wolf having some deep conversation over there?” he
teased.
I chuckled. “Yeah, we were just talking about how much we
adore you!
He smirked, brushing his fingers over my cheek. “Good, because
I’d hate for you to wake up and not be madly in love with me.”
Rolling my eyes, I snuggled closer. “I could never stop loving
you.”
Chapter 131
After a little pause, I asked, “Do you think the pack will allow
Mia to be the queen of Royal Pack?” She might not be our
biological child, but I loved her just as much. It was her right as
our first born to inherit the crown.
“It’s complicated. But based on what I know, it’s going to be
hard. Because she doesn’t carry any Alpha bloodline. It’s going
to be difficult for her to rule.”
I bit my lips, worry surging up in me, “I don’t want her to think
we’ve stripped her from her own right. Especially now we are
having a second child.” Parent’s biased love could be toxic for a
child. I learned that from my own experience.
“Don’t worry. When she’s old enough, we’ll sit her down and
explain to her. It’s still way ahead of us now!”
Just then, a soft knock on the door caught our attention. Before
either of us could respond, Mia peeked her head inside, her face
lighting up when she saw us.
“Good morning, princess,” I smiled opening my arms as she ran
to the bed.
“Morning!” She climbed in between us, making herself
comfortable.

“How did you sleep?” I asked, brushing back her hair.
“I had a dream about you and Daddy,” she grinned. “We were all
together, just like we are now.”
Asher tickled her side, making her giggle. “That’s because we’re
always with you, no matter what.”
My heart swelled. No matter what happened, I would protect
this little girl with everything I had.
“Let’s freshen up and have sorne breakfast,” I said, stretching
before getting out of bed.
As usual, Asher and I showered quickly before helping Mia get
ready. Just as we finished, another knock sounded at the door.
“Food!” Mia cheered, clapping her hands.
I smiled, walking over to open it. But the moment the door
swung open, I felt an eerie sense of deja vu. A young woman
stood there, looking right past me as she went straight for
Asher. My stomach twisted.
She threw her arms around him like they were long–lost lovers.
My patience was already wearing thin, and this wasn’t helping.
Chapter131
“Oh! I totally forgot you had a mate,” she said nonchalantly,
finally acknowledging my presence with a once–over.
My jaw clenched. “Make sure you don’t forget again,” I replied
coolly, making it clear that I wasn’t one to tolerate disrespect.
My tone must have done the trick because she quickly stepped
back and dipped her head slightly.
“I apologize, my queen. I just got excited.”
I folded my arms. “And you are?” I turned to Asher, waiting for
an explanation.
He rubbed the back of his neck. “Violet, this is Grace, an old
friend.”
An old friend?
Since when did Asher have female friends I didn’t know about?
‘You were his female friend once, too, he mind–linked me
smugly.
‘Let’s see if you feel the same way when I start reconnecting
with male friends, I shot back.
Grace giggled. “I missed you, Ash.”
