Chapter109
The second the door shut behind him, I let out a breath.
I had to do something reckless.
I reached for my phone and dialed the number I never thought
I’d willingly call.
The moment the call connected, a smooth voice greeted me.
“Queen Violet,” Alpha Javier drawled. “I had a feeling I’d be
hearing from you.”
I clenched my jaw at the casual way he addressed me, as if we
were old friends. “Then you already know why I’m calling.”
“Of course,” he said, his tone amused. “You want your mate
back!”
“I want Michael,” I corrected. “And you’re going to help me find
him.”
There was a pause, then a soft chuckle. “Ah, but why would I do
that?”
I clenched my jaw.
Chapter109
I gritted my teeth. “I’m not begging,” I hissed. “I’m giving you a
chance to do the right thing. You can help me get Asher back,
and in return, I’ll. I’ll make it worth your while.”
He laughed again, sounding genuinely amused. “The right
thing?” he repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “You
misunderstand me. I’ve already done the ‘right thing‘ as far as
I’m concerned. Í gave Michael the resources to capture Asher.
Why would I help you undo my own plan?”
My stomach twisted at the confirmation. He’d just admitted his
involvement.
“I don’t respond well to threats, Queen,” he mused. “But I am a
reasonable man. If you give me what I want, I’ll give you what
you need.”
I hated that I had to play his game, but I didn’t have a choice.
“Fine,” I said. “What do you want?”
“Your blood.”
I stilled.
Of all the things I’d expected, that wasn’t one of them.
“Excuse me?” I asked, my voice sharp.
Chapter109
“You heard me already!”
My hand tightened around the phone. “What do you plan to do
with my blood? I’m not some magic fountain you can tap into.”
“You are, though,” Xavier answered calmly. “Your family has something special in its veins, something that goes beyond normal wolf lineage. Isaac is a fool for focusing on the Celestine Bloom, which is merely an artifact of power. But I’m smarter than that. I’m going after the source”
A slow, cold anger burned in my chest.
“You already have Michael,” I said. “He’ll gladly give you
whatever you need.”
Xavier chuckled. “Ah, but I don’t just want your blood, my dear Queen. I want yours and your brothers–combined.”
I felt my pulse quicken.
This wasn’t just about power. He was after something much bigger.
“You’re insane,” I muttered.
“Perhaps,” he admitted. “But you need me. And I need you.”
I took a slow breath. “I’ll give you what you want–but first, I

want proof that Asher is still alive.”
Xavier was silent for a moment, then let out an amused hum.
“You’re suspicious. Good. That means you’re smart.”
“I just know better than to trust a snake,” I shot back.
He laughed. “Nice move but don’t forget that we are werewolf and we can sense when our mates are dead. So no I’ll not give you any proof. And since I’m holding your man, you’ll do
exactly what I ask of you. Now, talk to the others if you will. But don’t keep me waiting.”
Then the line went dead.
I threw my phone to the floor. To hell with that bastard!
I barely had time to process the conversation before a knock at
my door made me snap my head up.
“Come in,” I called, still reeling.
Matthew stepped inside, looking tense.
“I need to talk to you,” he said.
I sighed. “If this is about the war-”
“It’s not,” he cut me off.
Chapter 100
That caught my attention. “Then what?”
He hesitated before running a hand through his hair, pacing the
room.
“I’m screwed,” he muttered.
I frowned. “What are you talking about?”
Matthew stopped and met my gaze. “I found my mate.“”
I blinked. That wasn’t what I was expecting.
“That’s. good news?” I said, unsure why he looked like he was
about to throw up.
“It would be,” he said. “If it wasn’t her.”
A chill ran down my spine.
“Who?” I asked slowly.
Matthew clenched his jaw, looking like he wanted to punch a
hole through the wall.
“Kylie”
I stared at him.
The room went silent.
Chapter109
I laughed. A short, humorless laugh.
“You have got to be kidding me.”
“I wish I was,” he muttered.
I shook my head, rubbing my temples.
“I felt it that day,” he admitted. “I ignored it, but I can’t anymore.
It’s driving me insane.”
I exhaled sharply.
“I don’t care if she’s your mate, Kylie.” My voice was ice. “She’s
still going to die.”
Violet’s POV
The call came sooner than expected, cutting my conversation
with Aiden short.
