Chapter103
My hands clenched into fists as I paced the room, my chest tight
with fury and panic.
Six hours.
That was the deadline he gave me. Asher was still alive now.
But if we couldn’t reach an agreement by then, my mate would
be in serious danger.
My brothers were on the couch across from me, their
expressions heavy. Jayden’s head was in his hands, and Philip
was biting his nails, his face blank. I knew their world must
have been turned upside down now, but I didn’t have the time
or energy to comfort them.
“I can’t just sit here,” I muttered, more to myself than anyone
else.
I grabbed a blade from the weapons rack, feeling its weight in
my hand. NO. I couldn’t just go down like that. I wasn’t happy
with either of the options he gave me.
“You guys can stay here and reflect upon your whole life. I’m
leaving.” I strode to the door.
Chapter103
“WAIT!” Jayden looked up his eyes bloodshot, “Where are you
going? Michael said 6 hours-”
“Oh so now we’re going to let him threat us without even
putting up a fight?” I turned to him, my expression cold and
unyielding. “I’m going to find Isaac and Kylie. They’re going to
tell me everything they know about Michael. Every weakness.
Every secret. If they think they can keep playing games, I’ll
make them regret it.”
Jayden flinched at my tone but didn’t argue. He looked like he
wanted to say more, but I didn’t give him the chance.
Without another word, I left the room, my urgent steps echoing
down the hallway as I made my way to the dungeons.
The air in the dungeon was colder than usual, the stench of
damp stone and old blood filling my nose. My wolf howled at
the smell of blood, getting excited.
Michael made me choose–the crown or Asher.
And now I was going to make Isaac and Kylie choose as well-
blood or answer.
Isaac was sitting on the ground, his hands bound, his face pale and glistening with sweat. When he saw me, his expression
twisted into a sneer.
Chapter103
“Back so soon, Queen Violet?” he taunted, though his voice
trembled. “Have you come to gloat?”
I stepped closer, my hand resting on the hilt of my blade.
“No, Isaac. I’m here for answers.”
He narrowed his eyes, and I could see the tension in his body.
“Answers? What answers? I’ve told you everything I know. It’s
your dear brother you should be dealing with.”
“What are Michael’s weaknesses? He is not as strong as Asher.
How did he manage to take down Asher?”
Isaac snorted, “I don’t know!”
“You were working together. You seriously expect me to believe
that?”
“And Michael is your brother. You don’t know everything about
him, do you? People have secrets!”
I ignored his deflection. Instead, I drew the blade and held it up,
letting the torchlight catch on its edge.
“Asher and I are connected, Isaac. You know what that means,
don’t you?” I didn’t wait for him to respond. “I can feel his pain. I
know where he’s been hurt.”
Chapter103
Isaac’s eyes widened, and I saw the realization dawn on his face.
“You wouldn’t-”
I moved quickly, plunging the blade into his side, mimicking the
location of the wound I felt in Asher’s body. Isaac let out a
bloodcurdling scream, his hands clawing at the air as he writhed
in pain.
“You feel that?” I hissed, leaning closer. “That’s just a fraction of
what Asher has endured because of you and Michael! Now, tell
me what I want to know, or I’ll make sure the next strike is
much worse!!!”
Isaac gasped, his face twisted with agony. “I don’t know
anything-”
“STOP FUCKING LYING TO ME!”
I snarled, twisting the blade slightly. His scream echoed off the
stone walls.
I was torturing him. But I felt no guilt, no remorse. Only the cold
determination to get what I needed. These people fucking
deserved this. I had put up with them for too long.
“Tell me Michael’s weakness. Tell me how to stop him. Or
maybe I should pay another visit to your foster parents. I’m sure
Chapter103
they’d love to join this little game!”
“No! Please!” Isaac cried, his voice breaking. “Michael… he’s
reckless. He acts on impulse. He’s driven by his hatred for Asher
and his desire for power.”
“Tell me something I don’t know!”
“That’s all I know! I swear!!!”
I narrowed my eyes, studying his face for any sign of deception.
He was terrified, his body trembling, his words spilling out in a
frantic rush. For now, I believed him.
“Pathetic,” I muttered, stepping back. Isaac slumped against the
wall, clutching his side as he gasped for breath.
