Chapter 9
I had my father’s body temporarily frozen and dragged my numb body back to the villa
Ronan had already found Wendy and begun secretly preparing for his fake death
The White Pack patriarch taking Wendy away made him and Wendy afraid to waste any more time
He knew the White Pack patriarch–his grandfather–well. Now that he agreed to bring back Wendy, who knew when he might change his mind again.]
So he wanted to flee far away with Wendy.
Seeing my condition, Ronan and Wendy were startled
“In broad daylight, are you pretending to be a ghost?” Wendy spoke with displeasure.
I acted as if I hadn’t heard, mechanically walking upstairs.]
When I passed Ronan, I paused, looked up at him, a trace of hatred spreading in my eyes]
“Ronan, tell me, do people become ghosts when they die? I suddenly spoke
Ronan froze, looking at me with confusion. Seeing my lost and pained expression, thinking I couldn’t bear to part with him, he comforted me. “When people die, it’s like a lamp going out. Don’t keep thinking about it.“[
“I see.” I continued walking.
Ronan felt inexplicably uneasy: “Aria, don’t die for love because of me. Live well.”
I forced the corners of my mouth up. Die for love because of him? He was overthinking
Ronan and Wendy’s mating ceremony was finally scheduled.]
During this time, Ronan kept pretending to be terminally ill, occasionally coughing up blood, making the White Pack patriarch frantically search for specialists to treat him, hoping he could live a few more days.
The wedding dress was Wendy’s favorite–a luxurious hand–crafted gown covered in diamonds. The venue was the sky garden of the Wilshire Building.
Attending the mating ceremony were Ronan’s group of Betas and Gammas, and m
The ceremony officially began. The officiant brought the bride and groom forward, read the vows, exchanged rings, and completed the rituals.
I stood quietly in the corner. None of this concerned me. I was only waiting for the moment Renan would “die“|||
The moment the couple left the venue, Ronan collapsed thunderously, Blood flowed from his nose and mouth as he was rushed to the hospital
“Aria, I’m sorry to you, making you a widow at such a young age. If there’s a next life, don’t marry me.”
Before being wheeled into the emergency room, Ronan looked straight at me: “You must live well. I have frozon sperm, you can have a child to keep you company.”
“When I die, Wendy will leave too. Don’t make things difficult for her.
Ronan spoke with genuine emotion, two tears falling from his eyes, as if he truly couldn’t bear to die.
Wendy held his hand, crying hysterically. Before he even entered the emergency room, she had already fainted
“Go in peace, I will live well.” I avoided his outstretched hand and spoke flatly.
Ronan’s heart sank sharply. He looked at me uneasily, wanting to say more, but was already being wheeled inside.
After two hours of failed resuscitation, Ronan was dead
The White Fack patriarch became emotionally agitated and immediately fainted. The White Pack members frantically sent him to another emergency room
Only I stood quietly in the shadows nearby
After they all left, I went to the office to obtain Ronan White’s death certificate, had that “corpse of Ronan’s cremated, and processed the cancellation of his identity documents.
Then I took these materials and quickly signed inheritance agreements with lawyers, getting everything I deserved[]
The White Pack patriarch had suffered a stroke, and Wendy was overcome with grief, so I handled all of Roman’s funeral arrangements.
Ronan’s funeral was grand. Almost everyone in America knew he had died, and mourners filled the White Pack mansson
Halfway through the funeral, I quietly left.
Ireturned to my room and changed into the wedding dress that Lanchester Pack had sent early that morning. Carrying a bright red bouquet, I walked through the corridors, step by step out of the White Pack mansion
My behavior caused an uproar–Ronan wasn’t even buried yet, and his wife Aria Judith was eagerly putting on a wedding dress to marry someone else
Some cursed me as shameless, others said I was stimulated and had gone mad
No matter how loud or harsh the discussions behind me were, I never looked back.
As I got into the wedding car sent by Lanchester Pack, 1spoke flatly
“Ronan, your performance is over. From now on, we have no relationship whatsoever.”
“And what you owe me should finally be repaid.”
