Chapter 2
Anastasia Katz raised an eyebrow coolly, showing no emotion in her eyes. “Since I called you, it means I’ve already made up my mind.”
Alivia Landers chuckled, starting the car as she spoke, “I’ve been wanting you to dump Cassius Draven for ages. You’ve gone through all that trouble to treat his leg, and yet he’s still stringing along with your sister overseas. He’s just a playboy! Forget men, you should focus on making money!”
Seeing Alivia getting more and more agitated, with the car speeding up, Anastasia couldn’t help but laugh.
“Calm down. I don’t want to just escape the grave of marriage only to end up in a real grave.”
Seeing Anastasia still in a mood to joke, Alivia finally breathed a sigh of relief and cautiously asked, “So, what are you planning to do next?”
If Anastasia hadn’t contacted her, Alivia was about to go find her soon anyway.
“I’ll take some time off first. How’s the company doing lately?”
Anastasia had devoted all her energy to Cassius in recent years, leaving her self–founded fashion company to the shareholders to manage. She hadn’t worried about anything except collecting dividends for the past three years.
She hadn’t checked how much money was in her account, but as long as they followed the business plan she left, it shouldn’t be doing too badly.
Hearing this, Alivia’s expression changed, and she sighed, “Let’s talk about that after you’ve had some rest…”
Anastasia raised an eyebrow. From Alivia’s reaction, it didn’t seem good.
However, she wasn’t in the mood to take over the company now. She nodded, “Alright, just take me to the airport.”
“Where are you planning to go?”
“I haven’t decided. I’ll just pick a place when I get there.”

Anastasia tapped her fingers on the car door casually, her eyes calm but unable to hide her exhaustion.
Alivia sighed inwardly. It seemed even the most capable people could lose their rationality in matters of the heart.
At the airport, after Anastasia got out of the car, she turned to Alivia and said, “Send my luggage to the villa at Emerald Enclave in the north of the city.”
“Sure. How long will you be gone?”
“About a month.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for you!”
Anastasia waved casually and then turned to enter the airport.
… One month later.
Draven Group’s Seattle branch.
In the conference room, Cassius was discussing the next quarter’s development plans with the department manager when his phone suddenly rang.
Seeing it was Mrs. Draven Eisley, he frowned and stood up. “Let’s take a five–minute break.”
He walked out of the conference room and answered the phone. Eisley’s dissatisfied voice immediately came through.
“Cassius, I’ve been to the villa to find Anastasia several times, and she’s never home. Did you two have a fight? Is she giving me the cold shoulder on purpose?!”
Eisley’s tone was full of displeasure and anger. She never liked Anastasia, and now her impression of her was even worse.
Cassius‘ brows furrowed tightly. He had been so busy in Seattle that he hadn’t touched the ground for weeks. At first, he waited for Anastasia to call and apologize, but later he got so busy that he completely forgot about it.
Now, with Eisley calling, he realized that Anastasia hadn’t contacted him for an entire month, which was unimaginable in the past.
“I’ll call her later. Do you need something from her?”

Eisley, annoyed, said, “Your grandma’s birthday is coming up. I wanted her to help pick out a gift, but I’ve hit a dead end several times. If only you’d married Adalyn back then, things wouldn’t be…”
Cassius interrupted her, frowning. “I know. I’ll call her and get back to you.”
Hanging up the phone, Cassius dialed Anastasia’s number.
He called multiple times, but it kept showing as busy.
Cassius‘ face darkened instantly. It was obvious–Anastasia had blocked him!
Suppressing his anger, he turned to Abdul Acevedo and said, “Call Anastasia for me!”
“Okay.” Abdul made the call, but no one answered.
Seeing Cassius‘ increasingly dark expression, Abdul nervously said, “Mr. Draven… no answer…”
Cassius‘ face was icy. “I see. I’ll continue the meeting. Contact the villa’s property management.”
An hour later, as Cassius walked out of the meeting room, Abdul approached him nervously.
“President, the property management said that Miss Katz left with a suitcase the day after you went on your business trip.”
Because Cassius and Anastasia were secretly married, Abdul always referred to her as Miss
Katz.
Cassius had never found this odd before, but now it made him frown instinctively.
Suppressing the discomfort in his heart, Cassius coldly said, “Find out where she is now and book the earliest flight back home.”
“Okay. Should Miss Adalyn Katz come with us?”
