Chapter37
Phalicia had some trouble breathing, then casually went through Carlene’s email and photo album, and unexpectedly found some really wild photos.
It was all Carlene and several men.
Phalicia was shocked. She didn’t expect Carlene to have so many photos and felt like her eyes were dirty.

She forced herself not to feel sick, sent the photo to her phone, then messaged Horacio.
“Mr. Thatcher, was it illegal to leak someone’s explicit photos?”
Today was just a setup. If it really got exposed and I didn’t clear things up, who knew if I’d get dragged into it.
Soon Horacio replied, “My main job was to investigate your brother’s case, not to explain the law to you.”
Phalicia saw the reply and thought it was funny.
Held such a grudge.
She tapped her fingers on the chat box, thinking about what to say to get the upper hand, but forgot that since she kept pulling up the chat box, it just kept showing “typing…” on the other side.
Horacio opened the fridge, grabbed a can of ice water, and drank half of it, but still didn’t get a reply.
The woman on the other end of the phone seemed so mad she didn’t even know how to respond.

Horacio put down the water bottle and tapped the screen a few times.

A message suddenly popped up on Phalicia’s phone screen.
“You came out and exposed it, causing others‘ reputations to be damaged, and the photos spread with a bad impact, so of course it was against the
law.”
She paused, deleted what she wanted to say to mock Horacio in the chat box, and quietly sent a thank you emoji.

the two ended there.
Phalicia glanced at Carlene, who was passed out asleep on the couch, and thought about throwing the couch out tomorrow and getting a new one.
Who knew if Carlene had caught something, she was always running to her place.
When Carlene used to get drunk and not go home, but came over here, there would always be some hangover soup or honey water she made herself.
Phalicia also put her own comfy pajamas on Carlene and coaxed her upstairs to bed.
To a friend who wasn’t related by blood, she thought she treated Carlene just as well as her own family.
It was just a pity that people’s hearts were dark. Even if she fed Carlene with her own blood, someone like that wouldn’t remember her kindness at
all.
Phalicia’s eyes went cold. She walked over, grabbed the blanket, and
threw it toward Carlene.

The blanket fell on the floor, looked like Carlene knocked it off on
purpose.
Phalicia went upstairs and didn’t care about Carlene’s life or death
anymore.
Carlene was shocked when she woke up the next day.
Clothes weren’t changed, shoes weren’t taken off, no hangover soup, no hot breakfast, no idea when the blanket fell off, throat hurt badly, just caught a cold from the cold.
Carlene was rummaging around for medicine. When she saw Phalicia come out, she complained and asked, “Why didn’t you take care of me yesterday? You didn’t even take off my shoes!”
Phalicia sneered inside and went downstairs to explain, “I drank too much yesterday too. I felt really awful and didn’t have the energy to help you with this.”
She rubbed her neck and came down: “You’re not short of money, just hire someone to take care of you at home. Why do you always come here whenever you get drunk?”
“Weren’t you just my servant taking care of me?” Carlene blurted out, feeling annoyed.
Phalicia paused for a second and looked at her lightly across the island.
Carlene didn’t know why, but she felt a little scared.
She swallowed and quickly explained, “I–I didn’t mean that…”
Phalicia smiled softly, “I know. Anyway, if you get drunk, don’t come to me. The company was too busy lately, and I needed to make sure I got enough sleep. I couldn’t afford to be tired.”

Carlene didn’t think anything was wrong.
After all, Phalicia really was especially busy at this time every year.
But after she finished being busy for a while and the new products were released, the jewelry sold really well, and she could enjoy all the praise in style.
Carlene propped her chin in her hand, stared at Phalicia in a great mood, and half–joked, “Licia, if Caleb doesn’t want you in the future, I want you. I’ll hire you with a high salary to be my exclusive ghostwriter and design for me for the rest of your life, how about it?”
She really thought there would be a day like that.
Phalicia made herself a cup of coffee and laughed when she heard that.
