Chapter30
Caleb suddenly stopped in his tracks, a bit of wariness in his eyes: “What did you say?”
The subordinate said, “Ms. Lombard asked if Shelton wanted to get out as soon as possible, and she wanted him to write down what happened back then on paper, not to miss any details. She would send someone to pick it up later.”
“Everything was fine, so why did Ms. Lombard suddenly go visit the prison? Before, she only went during New Year and stuff like that. Shelton was frustrated and didn’t want to see her.”
Caleb held his phone tightly and slowly walked into the hallway.
Looks like Phalicia was suspecting there was more to what happened
back then?
He looked through the glass and saw Phalicia giving out tasks to the staff with some documents.
She still worked carefully and seriously for Voyage Group, just like usual.
Today Phalicia suddenly changed her attitude toward him and slapped him twice without mercy. Was it because she saw him with Shevonne, or did she find out that Shelton went to jail and it had something to do with
him?
Caleb squinted his eyes, “The stuff Shelton wrote, you had to get it before Phalicia. You knew how to change the content.”
The subordinate replied, “Yes, understood.”

Caleb hung up the phone, shoved it into his pocket, and stared as Phalicia walked in.

When he pushed open the office door, Phalicia was tucking some stray hair behind her ear. Her profile was covered in a cold white light, making her look even more distant.
Caleb suddenly remembered, three years ago she was messed with by people he sent from the Bureau.
He also kept a cold face, leaning against the wall, looking like he’d rather die than give in.
That little look of keeping people at a distance always sparked his desire
to conquer.
Caleb closed the door behind him, walked up behind Phalicia, and leaned down, wanting to kiss her neck.
Hadn’t succeeded yet, Phalicia said coldly, “I told you, let’s both calm down for a few days. I don’t want to talk to you about Shevonne right
now.”
“This isn’t up for discussion, it was my fault. Even if she really got drunk and had nowhere to go, I still shouldn’t have taken her home. I deserved a beating.”
Caleb grabbed her hand and slapped it on his own face. “Hit me, Licia, however you want to let off steam. After you’re done, come sign a contract with me, okay?”
Phalicia pulled her hand away from him and frowned, “What contract?”
Caleb got down on one knee, looked up at her, and willingly submitted, saying, “The bonus agreement for the Jewelry Department, starting today,

you’ll get twenty percent of the jewelry sales as my compensation to you.”
Phalicia was surprised.
The Jewelry Department was already the top revenue generator in the Voyage Group, and the amount of profit was unbelievably huge.
Caleb just gave her 20% right away?
Facing her incredulous look, Caleb smiled and held her hand tight: “What’s mine is yours, Licia. Have I ever been stingy with you? I always saw you as the only one I’d marry in this life.”
Phalicia’s eyes flickered, but she didn’t say anything.
“Now, can you believe I wasn’t interested in Shevonne and there was nothing between us?” Caleb kept coaxing.
Phalicia looked at him kneeling on one knee.
This kind of admitting mistakes was something Caleb had never had
before.
She just made a scene at the Phelan’s manor and slapped Caleb twice, making his face swell, and he actually didn’t mind?
Phalicia had a gut feeling that something was fishy.
For three years, Caleb never shared the Jewelry Department’s profits with her, so there was no way he’d suddenly feel guilty and generous just because he took Shevonne back for a night.
Phalicia was silent for a while, then suddenly raised her hand and tapped Caleb’s still–swollen cheek with her fingertip.
“Did it still hurt?”

Caleb smiled and held her fingertips. “If you give it a kiss, it won’t hurt.”
Phalicia pulled him up, moved the chair a bit and told him to sit down.
“You contacted Ms. Sandoval, I wasn’t mad, but I couldn’t accept that you brought someone home and didn’t tell me.”
Caleb listened carefully and nodded obediently, “I really won’t do it again.”
Phalicia finally smiled a little, “Bonus… you really willing to give it?”
“Let James bring the contract now.” Caleb took out his phone and called his assistant.
After he hung up, he patted his leg while holding Phalicia’s hand.
Phalicia didn’t sit on his lap, she moved the files off the corner of the table
and sat there.
Caleb didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He held her hand tighter and pretended to be casual: “Oh yeah, I heard you went to Sarodom Prison today.”
