Chapter 5
Braedon didn’t understand the meaning behind his words for a moment.
The face turned pale.
Staring blankly, he opened his mouth and said, “What surgery? What are you talking about?”
The secretary became anxious and immediately pulled out the agreement in his hand, revealing the spot where he had signed on my behalf.
“This! It was sent to the company by the wife. This is the agreement you signed on the day of the surgery five years ago! She has already found out!”
“I contacted her as soon as I received the package, but the number was completely unreachable. I suspected something had happened to my wife!”
Madelyn, who was busy selecting a dress next to her, heard this and a look of satisfaction appeared in her eyes.
She quickly hid it again and laughed softly when she spoke.
“What’s wrong, Braedon? Did Arianna pick a fight with you again?”
“Really, even after being married for several years, she still acts like a child. I know her well. She has always been like this. You can’t always indulge her. Women need to be disciplined in order to listen.”
“Don’t worry, besides you, she doesn’t have any other relatives now. She will come back when she figures it out herself.”
“What do you think of this dress? Does it look good with the necklace you gave me?”
Braedon glanced at her perfunctorily.
“You look good, you are beautiful, everything looks good on you.”
He kept sending messages to my account, constantly looking down.
But I found that I had already deleted and blocked him.
Suddenly, he became uneasy for no reason.
We had our fair share of arguments during our five years of marriage.
But no matter how big the contradiction was, it never lasted overnight.
I knew that he worked hard and could endure the grievances on his own.
I wouldn’t say another word to him.
Today, I cut off all contact with him for the first time.
Braedon panicked.
I went out and used work as an excuse to send a message to Stephen.
The voice was filled with anxiety.
“Help me check the surveillance footage of your hospital. Did Arianna visit your hospital these past few days?”
Stephen was confused.
“What happened? Is she sick? Why didn’t she contact me directly? It’s quite troublesome to make an appointment at the hospital now.”
Braedon hesitated for two seconds before sighing, “I suspect Arianna knows about the surgery that year. She sent me a surgical agreement, but t
reach her now.”
“I have said it long ago, you can’t hide the truth. After Mrs. Tucker’s surgery, you didn’t even let Arianna see the body. She would eventually find out something was wrong. Well, fine, I will investigate now. Wait for my message.”
The phone call ended, and Braedon stared at the unsent message on his phone, lost in thought.
Tjust felt that something important was going away from me.
And he, could no longer hold on.
Braedon called the secretary and asked him to check my whereabouts over the past two days.
Returning to the store once again, he threw a bank card at Madelyn before preparing to leave.
