“Going somewhere?”

I paused abruptly in my run when I saw Keshton standing right in front of me. My face turned pale at the sight of him. How how had he appeared in front of me like that? Had he run all the way down the stairs? But he couldn’t possibly be that fat Si how?
“I thought I told you I don’t like to repeat myself, he reiterated with a cigarette lazily pressed between his lips, giving him a dangerously attractive look.
“Let me go,” I said, breathing hard as I took a step back.
That’s not an option,” he announced, crushing the cigarette on the ground as walking closer to me
My heart leaped into my throat. With a mere glance, I could sense his intentions. “Don’t come any closer to me, I warned.
“Or what?” he raised his brows, closing the distance between us.
“Or I could kill you!” I partially shifted in the blink of an eye as I attacked his chest. My movements were quick and slick, ripping off a big part of his chest. Since shifting in a human territory was against werewolf laws, I couldn’t shift into my wolf. However, he just stopped in his tracks, studying my flushed face and burning eyes for a second as if he was reading me. He brushed off his white shirt without looking at how much blood he was losing and said to me.
“You want to fight?” The look in his eyes was deeply offensive.
“I’m not going down without a fight, I growled. “You can take my dead body with you, but there’s no way I’ll willingly follow
you”
I attacked him first seeing he stood in the way of my exit from the alley between the buildings. He didn’t move at all. Remaining in place, he defended against my attack without blinking an eye. I knew he was an Alpha, the most powerful and dangerous in our race. While I was ready to fight and die rather than be taken away.
I punched, scratched, and hit him time and time again, but he didn’t seem to be affected. Every time I attacked him, he would reverse the attack back on me, causing me to get hurt. The corner of my mouth bled and my head spun. If this continued, I would be quickly defeated. All the fighting skills I had honed over the years seemed overpowered by him. It felt like he was toying with me. This feeling was unbelievably degrading. I decided to end the fight with one last move, a move that had worked in the past and could either lead to my victory or
Charging at him, I attacked him with the claws of my right hand, which he blocked as I had predicted. Then I executed my secret move, using the claws of my left hand to aim for his throat. Just as I was about an inch away, he grabbed my wrist. 1 gasped, feeling both of my wrists in his grasp, knowing he could easily break them.
In those silent moments, he locked eyes with me while my heart beat like a racehorse before he suddenly pushed both of my arms aside and attacked my face. I fell to the ground.
I shut my eyes tightly, bracing for the pain of my face being ruined for the rest of my life from his attack. In my confusion, 1 didn’t feel any pain. Slowly, I opened my eyes to find Keshton squatting down right in front of me.
He suddenly put his finger under my chin to lift it, the corner of his lips raised slightly. “You’ve got something interesting going on here,” he murmured
My eyes widened as I realized he was referring to my eyes. They immediately went to his hand, which was holding my sunglasses, and then back to him as he continued to study me.
Don’t tell me he had already deduced that I wasn’t blind but acting. Or perhaps he knew from the day I had bumped into him.
I immediately looked away from him, fearing he might call me a ghost or something equally derogatory, as others had done in the past.
“Give me my sunglasses back. I growled, reaching out for them
“Why?” he asked, raising his hand above his head to make it difficult for me to reach them. My knees wobbled causing me to

lose my balance, I fell against his chest. He quickly wrapped his arms around my waist, catching me just in time. I gasped and looked up at him, where he was already staring intensely at me.
“You have silver eyes,” he murmured.
I froze at his unexpected remark. Did he just call my eyes silver? Was he crazy? No, he was making fun of me. It was enough to make my blood boil.
“Give them back!” I glared at him, this time defiantly locking eyes with him.
He grabbed my neck, pulling me closer to his face. “The first lesson of being my possession is never raise your voice to me. he growled, pressing on a vein in my neck that made me black out. My head spun and I fainted in his arms.
I didn’t know what happened next, but I experienced the sensation of him throwing me over his shoulder as if I were a bazo) potatoes before he walked out of the alley.
