Chapter 8
It had been a month since Joe came out of the police station.
“Lily, I’m back” he said out of the blue.
He couldn’t wait to return home, but when he opened the door, he saw several unfamiliar faces moving things in the house,
“Who are you? Why are you in my house? Who allowed you to come in?” Joe’s face turned cold:
The faces of those people were also not good,
“Who are you? You look like a beggar. This is my home, the villa I just bought.”
The middle–aged man looked at the unshaven Joe with disdain and his eyes were full of disdain.
“What?” Joe was startled and looked at the man in disbelief.
“Who sold it to you?”
“Of course it’s the owner of this house. I heard that her name seems to be Lily, the pregnant woman who was eight months pregnant in the popular video some time ago.” The male owner waved a feather duster at Joe,
“Get out of here! You’re a beggar, do you know who that is? You dare to come to the hall here? Get out of here! Don’t dirty my floor. It’s unlucky.”
Joe seemed to have lost all his strength and let the man push him out of the door, then sat down on the ground,
After a while, Joe got up from the ground and kept calling me with trembling hands. The phone number was already showing that it was unavailable.
Joe found my WhatsApp again and sent me a voice message.
“Lily, are you kidding me? Can you come back soon? I’ll wait for you at home.”
As soon as the voice message was sent, a striking red exclamation mark popped up. He had been blocked by me a long time ago. Joe was completely stunned and then called his assistant again,
As soon as the call was connected, Joe yelled fiercely at the other end of the phone. “What do you do for a living? You don’t even know that my villa has been sold? Why do I need a useless person like you?”
“Joe, you may have made a mistake about something.”
For the first time, the assistant’s tone lacked the usual respect. “You are no longer my boss.”
Joe was startled, frowning. “You resigned? Why didn’t you report to me?”
The assistant chuckled. “Do you think you are still the high and mighty president of Brown? Do I have to report to you?”

Joe’s heart suddenly trembled and a huge sense of fear enveloped him. “What do you mean by this?”
“Brown has been dissolved and the company has gone bankrupt. Put away your domineering temper!” The assistant’s tone was full of sarcasm.
Joe paused as he held the phone. “This is impossible. I was only detained for a month. How could Brown be finished so quickly? You must be lying to me.”
Joe roared out of control.
“Lie to you? If you don’t believe me, you can go to Brown’s company and see whose surname the company is under now. Lily has already sold the company at a low price with your transfer agreement in hand. I advise you to wake up as soon as possible. You are just a drowning dog that everyone can step on.”
After saying that, the assistant hung up the phone. Joe looked at the hung up phone and the last words I said in the detention room came to his mind.
“Only when you really lose everything will you understand whether the person around you is a human or a ghost.”
Joe knelt on the ground and screamed in pain. Just then a courier stood in front of Joe. “Mr. Brown? Here is a document for you that you need to sign for.”
