Chapter 6
I looked at my father’s devastated face and laughed bitterly.[]
“How is Emma’s death my fault? You cut me open, took my baby – you destroyed everything I had. And now you’re still trying to blame me?“[]
CRACK!
My father’s hand struck my face hard.[]
“Why couldn’t it have been you? You worthless child! Why did Emma have to die instead of you?“]
Everyone in the room was stunned by his cruelty.[]
“She just had major surgery and nearly died herself. Have you no humanity left?” someone tried to reason with him.[]
My father shoved them aside.
“My daughter is dead! My Emma is gone! This witch killed her sister and got her mother thrown in jail. She deserves to die!“]]
He lunged forward, wrapping his hands around my throat.[]
“You should die! You need to pay for Emma’s life!“]
The livestream exploded with comments:
“This family is terrifying. What kind of monsters are these parents?“]
“Are we sure Sarah is actually their biological child? Maybe she was adopted? Someone needs to investigate this.“[
“Not everyone deserves to be parents. This is horrifying.”
Just as my vision started to blur, several people pulled my father away.]
I gasped for air, my breathing ragged. Looking at my father’s unhinged expression, I managed a pained smile.
“You all keep threatening me, but when have you ever shown me an ounce of kindness? I’m less than an animal to you.“]
My father had completely lost his grip on reality.[]
“I should have killed you at birth. Then you wouldn’t have lived to kill your sister.“[]
He tried to lunge at me again but was restrained.]
Marcus burst through the door next.
“This was your plan all along, wasn’t it, Sarah? That’s why the baby conveniently died! Admit it!“[]
He grabbed my arm roughly.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I only know this is karma for what you’ve all done.“[]
Marcus raised his hand to strike me, but security guards rushed in and stopped him. The room erupted into chaos.]
Both my father and Marcus were escorted out for disturbing the hospital.[]
As I watched them being led away, I looked down at the strands of hair in my hand. Without hesitation, I called my friend.[]
“I need you to rush a DNA test. Make it urgent.“]
While my mother awaited trial in jail, my father was suspended from the hospital. As for Marcus, his company faced mass product returns and his reputation was in tatters. The complaint numbers soared while sales plummeted.]
crumbling like a house of cards, beyond any hope of recovery.[]
Everything Marcus had built S
My father called several times, begging me to sign a statement of forgiveness to get my mother released from jail. I refused every time.]
I blocked Marcus entirely.
I heard Emma’s funeral was a rushed affair – a brief ceremony before they hurried to bury her.[]
I was preparing to leave the hospital when my friend called with urgent news.[]
“Something’s wrong. Marcus is spreading rumors online that you deliberately aborted the baby rather than save your sister. The public opinion is starting to turn.“]
I quickly checked my phone. Sure enough, my name was trending at #1:[]
#Sarah deliberately aborted 8–month pregnancy, watched sister die#]]
#The truth behind the forced C–section#]
Clicking on any of the stories showed my signed abortion appointment form, complete with my signature.]
The comments section had exploded:[]
“Plot twist! I didn’t expect Sarah to be exposed so quickly.“[]
“How could she be so heartless? She had a chance to save both her baby and her sister. Why make it so tragic?”
“Talk about appearances being deceiving. Sarah’s the most ruthless one of all. No wonder her parents didn’t love her and her husband fell for her sister. She deserves it.“]]
“She could kill her own child of course she wouldn’t care about her sister.“[]
In an instant, all public sympathy had reversed. Everyone was standing on their moral high ground, condemning me. e.
Just then, my phone rang with an unknown number.[]
I answered, and an angry voice burst through:[]
“Sarah Chen, you’re the one who deserves to die! Go to hell!“[]
I quickly hung up, but a second call came immediately after. Text messages started flooding in too.
“You don’t deserve to be a mother. No wonder your family abandoned you. You don’t deserve happiness.“]
Looking at the stream of hateful messages, I removed my SIM card and threw it in the trash.
When I logged back into my messaging app, Marcus had already sent several messages:]
“How does it feel to be attacked by everyone? Because of you, my company is nearly bankrupt. I face public hatred every day. I felt a little guilty toward you before, until I found your abortion appointment form. Then I understood this was all your plan.“[]
“Either sign a statement clearing your mother and publicly admit this was all your scheme, or prepare to be destroyed. Your choice.“[]
