Dumping Ex and Spoiled 3

Kevin heard Hubert repeatedly demanding a divorce and, in a fit of rage, struck Hubert’s back with his cane. The man being hit remained motionless, still standing straight, allowing Kevin to continue his beating. Natalie watched the scene unfold, and only when beads of cold sweat appeared on Hubert’s forehead, and blood stains started to show faintly on his white shirt, did she curl her lips and push the door open. “Grandpa, stop hitting him!” It seemed that with Kevin’s strength, he could no longer continue. The man’s cold, indifferent gaze swept over Natalie, his expression clearly saying, “This is all your fault.” Kevin, noticing Natalie’s arrival, looked slightly embarrassed. “Natalie, don’t take it too seriously. Who didn’t make some rash decisions when they were young? Hubert is just having a momentary impulse. Once your health is better, I’ll book you both a trip, tickets and hotel, so you two can take a vacation. When you come back, we’ll continue living as we always have…” Natalie thought back on the two years since she married Hubert, and the life they’d lived wasn’t terrible. Of course, if that kind of life could even be called living, she would say she had it good. Two years ago, Hubert and Britney were an enviable couple, deeply in love when the car accident happened. Hubert’s head was filled with blood clots, his kidneys ruptured, and his life was hanging by a thread. Kevin, in panic, turned to Natalie. Natalie flew to Tornham on the Lawson family’s private jet, spent over ten hours in surgery, and saved both Hubert and Britney from the brink of death. In the end, she donated one of her kidneys to Hubert. There was a piece of her within him, and nothing could be more romantic than this. At the time, Natalie thought she loved him deeply and bravely. She had even begged Kevin to keep her role in saving Hubert a secret because she didn’t want Hubert to feel indebted to her. But she had forgotten that it was after Hubert had not fully regained consciousness that Kevin arranged their marriage. After their marriage, they moved out of Lawson Mansion and lived a quiet life in the most upscale apartment in the city. Once Hubert recovered, he rarely smiled. He went to work and came home on time every day, ate the meals she cooked, and enjoyed her meticulous care. But he never shared anything about his life with her, never let her into his world. Even at company events, he would rather take a random female secretary than let Natalie accompany him. Their life was peaceful and stable, without a single ripple. Until six months ago, when Britney, who had been in a vegetative state, woke up after Natalie’s careful treatment, reality taught Natalie a harsh lesson. One-sided, reckless love never ends well! Under Kevin’s scolding, Hubert reluctantly gave Kevin a modicum of respect and, with a gloomy face, led Natalie out of Lawson Mansion. The car suddenly stopped on the mountain road. “Get out!” The man’s cold tone left no room for argument. Lawson Mansion was located in a hillside villa. The car drove for two kilometers before Hubert had the assistant stop. He pushed open the car door next to Natalie with one hand. Before Natalie could recover from her shock, she was already shoved out of the car. Watching the luxury car disappear in the distance, Natalie huddled her body, stumbling down the mountain road. Her body felt heavy after falling into the water. She touched her forehead, it was hot, likely a fever. The cool night wind blew past, causing Natalie to shiver like a floating weed. She curled her lips. She was probably the perfect example of a discarded woman from a wealthy family. Inside the luxury car, Hannah was showing Madeline the chat history on her phone, a proud look on her face. “Mom, look, I’ve got these young heirs from Tornham wrapped around my finger. The moment I speak up, they don’t have the guts to go against me.” Madeline patted Hannah’s face. “Of course, just look at who your mother is. Back in the day, I was the most distinguished lady in Tornham, and your father was completely enchanted by me…” Suddenly, Madeline’s voice trailed off as she noticed something. “Wait, Hannah, isn’t that the sl*t Natalie up ahead?”
