“Natalie, this divorce is not just some strategy of yours, is it?”
Worried about hurting Natalie’s pride, Arnold quickly clarified. “No matter what you want to do, I will support you unconditionally.”
If Natalie was merely using the divorce as leverage, he would step in as her brother to negotiate with the Lawson family.
Money couldn’t buy true love, but it could secure a marriage between prominent families.
Of course, that was only a last resort.
“Arnold, I’m tired. I have no interest in playing mind games anymore, Natalie said with a bitter smile. “I just think it’s unnecessary to terminate the collaboration with the Lawson family. Since our family has already invested the money, why not let the Lawson family earn it back for us?”
Arnold pinched her chin with a smirk. “That’s exactly what I thought. You’re quite the schemer.”
The Gray family absolutely had the power to destroy the Lawson family, but it wouldn’t come without costs to themselves.
However, Arnold wasn’t aware of Natalie’s own plans.
She shared her father George’s temperament. If she was wronged, she had to strike back.
But she wanted to handle it herself. The Gray family had already been deeply hurt by her actions. She didn’t want them to suffer any more losses because of her.
When Natalie had just returned to her room, the guest room door slowly creaked open, and a shadow crept out silently.

Natalie’s words from earlier had shaken Hubert to his core. He felt a dull ache in his chest, as if his heart itself had been bruised.
In the past. Natalie’s silent endurance, her compliance, and her tireless efforts were things he had taken for granted.
It wasn’t until she poured out all her grievances today that he realized just how much he had wronged her.
