Natalie immediately felt that Hubert felt disgusted that he had unknowingly slept with her, and had shown up at her house to get back at her.
“Yes” Natalie was calm, but she had murdered Gavin multiple times in her head.
“You sure have some guts, Natalie. On the surface, you agree to getting a divorce with me, but you secretly drug me. What are you playing at? Do you think that you have control over me just because we’ve had a child together? If that is so, you can dream on!” Hubert’s gaze was cold and sharp, but his harsh words and smirk cut deep into Natalie’s heart.
“Would you believe me if I told you that it wasn’t me who drugged you? You wouldn’t, and I know that because you never believed me. I told you it wasn’t me who pushed Britney into the lake, but you didn’t believe me! Hubert Lawson, I was married to you for two whole years, but when did you ever take me as your wife? I’m nothing more than a greedy shrew to you. I can never understand why the marriage I had poured so much into would end up like this.”
Natalie burst into tears, they rolled down her cheeks and landed onto Hubert’s sparkling leather shoes.

Feeling that Hubert had pushed her to the brink of madness, Natalie let all of her pent–up emotions loose.
The release instantly made her feel much lighter.

Natalie was dressed up very cutely, and she was all teary–eyed, her gaze would make anyone feel sympathy for her.
Hubert had always known that she was good looking and had a tasteful figure, but it was his first time seeing her looking so alluring.
The flames of desire suddenly blazed within him.
“Never cross again, huh, Hubert’s face was solemn. His lips pressed against hers without warning, as if it was meant to be some sort of punishment.
Natalie froze for a moment.
There was a point in her life where she countlessly dreamed and wished for his kisses.
However, back when Madeline had forced her unto her knees to say her apologies to Britney, and banged her head against the edge of the table while yanking her hair, she noticed the indifference and coldness in Hubert’s eyes. That was the moment she lost all hope for the man before her.
So, what is this kiss about? He’s trying to prove that I’m not over him? He’s trying to turn the wife into the mistress?
Natalie chomped down on his lip viciously, causing him to pull away abruptly.

Natalie felt that she had played the role of a wife to her best ability. She was well–mannered, patient, and reliable. Her cooking was very satisfactory, and she paid great detail to the house chores. Moreover, she never forgot to prepare gifts for everyone during every special occasion.
Hubert was able to focus fully on work and never had to worry about family matters, all he had to do was enjoy the comfort and convenience that she always provided.
He was a man who had little desire for marital matters, and was completely fine if he had to live a plain life with Natalie.
In truth, before Britney had gotten pregnant, he had never thought about divorcing Natalie.
