“It’s not like that. Hubert and Britney are true lovers. It’s just a pity they were in a car accident together, and Hubert’s grandpa forced him to marry Natalie–maybe because his grandpa sees Natalie as more obedient than Britney, or perhaps out of gratitude and guilt.”
The most disgusting person is Natalie. Britney has been out of her coma for half a year, and she still insists on being his wife No wonder Hubert doesn’t like her. She’s a vicious hypocrite.
“Exactly. No matter what. Britney’s child is innocent. Besides, after waking from a coma and being pushed like that, she might not be able to conceive again.”
“Natalie, you murderer! Move aside and let Britney be Hubert’s rightful wife!” bunch of idiots!
Quentin cursed the keyboard warriors online under his breath before quickly calling Natalie back.
“What is it?” Natalie said. Quentin was the most reliable among the men. He would never call her without a good reason.
“Well… the Internet’s saying you pushed Britney into the lake… Quentin chose his words carefully. To hell with Britney. I don’t
care about her at all
Quentin added. “Is Hubert treating you…”
“We’re divorced… Natalie cut him off before he could finish.
Quentin was a leader among the next generation of the local medical industry. Back when Hubert had brain surgery, Natalie was the lead neurosurgeon, and Quentin was her assistant.
Natalie had to take care of the entire Lawson family, which meant she couldn’t be at the hospital often. Out of trust, Quentin naturally became Britney’s attending physician.
Quentin felt discomfort overcome him hearing Natalie’s words. She wished he had listened to him earlier. “Natalie, I told you. back then Britney shouldn’t be saved…”
Quentin trailed off, not daring to go against his mentor out loud too much. His achievements in medicine were entirely thanks to Natalie’s guidance. If she wasn’t the number one person in his heart, no one else would be.
Natalie took a sip of water and said, “A doctor’s duty is to save lives. Forget it, Let’s just treat it as saving a biting dog!”
Even without Britney, there would still be others clamoring for his love. The gap between her and Hubert wasn’t just because of Britney. It was love or the lack thereof.
Over the years, every time Hubert attended a high–profile event, his female companions changed like a revolving door, yet Natalie was never among them. Countless socialites and celebrities had been rumored to be romantically involved with him.
Once, Natalie had confronted him with a newspaper featuring intimate photos of him and a celebrity, asking about their relationship.
Hubert had narrowed his eyes at her, snatched the newspaper from her hand, and slammed it onto the floor. “Natalie, what right do you have to question me? My affairs have nothing to do with you. If you ask me again, get out of my family!”
Quentin punched the wall, his heart aching over the kidney Natalie had donated to Hubert. Her body was so flawless that he had hesitated to wield the scalpel back then. “For f*ck’s sake, I really regret saving that pair of scumbags. They weren’t worth dirtying my hands with the scalpel!”
Natalie said, “By the way, check which doctor performed Britney’s prenatal exam and dared to issue a fake test result. Quentin, as the president of the Cathay Medical Association, it’s time you cleaned up your doctors.”
Quentin was stunned, but Natalie made sense. If Britney couldn’t possibly conceive, then the fetal ultrasound she flaunted on Twitter must have been fabricated “Okay. I’ll look into it right away!”

Natalie smiled as she sipped the warm milk. Some people, like Steven, would be wholeheartedly grateful if you treated them. well. On the other hand, others like Hubert, would never warm up to you no matter how good you were to them.
