Chapter 10 How Was It?

Natalie had one foot planted on the couch and waved a microphone wildly with one hand, shouting at the top of her lungs
“B*tch and b’stard, the perfect pair of betrayers! Wishing you a happy family, with each child having a different father! Britney, right? Here’s the trash, Hubert. Consider him my gift to you, and no need to thank me!”
Gavin coaxed and shooed Steven out of the room, telling him to wait in the car, and then snatched the microphone from Natalie’s hand. Without hesitation, he carried her off and dumped her into the adjacent private room
As Gavin envisioned the outcome, a smug smile crept across his face, blooming like a flower at the thought of how Natalie would thank him later.
Natalie grabbed the front of the man’s shirt, yanking him closer. A perfectly sculpted, handsome face magnified before her eyes. She felt dizzy, sure that she was so drunk everyone started looking like Hubert.
Her body burned hot, her throat painfully dry. She tried to sit up for a glass of water, but in the next instant, a pair of thin, sensuous lips descended on hers.
The kiss was dominating, forceful.
Look at me. Hubert’s kept me so repressed for so long, and now I’m dreaming up this nonsense!
Since it was just a dream. Natalie decided she might as well indulge herself this once.
It wasn’t until a searing pain tore through her that she realized the truth.
D’mn it! It isn’t a dream
When everything was over, Natalie stared at the sleeping Hubert beside her, a whirlwind of emotions brewing. She realized. she had always suppressed even the way she looked at him, afraid of provoking his annoyance.
Cold lips, a sharp jawline, perfectly defined collarbones…
Natalie snapped her gaze back, too embarrassed to look any further.
Did I actually sleep with Hubert?
Her face burned as she slapped her cheeks lightly. Quickly, she slipped into her dress, stepped into her high heels, and fled the scene like a storm.
With a swoosh of wind, she slid into Gavin’s car.
“Gavin, I. I just slept with Hubert..” she stammered, her expression filled with panic.
Gavin cast her a sidelong glance, his smirk wicked. ‘And? How was it?”
Ignoring him, Natalie grabbed the spare laptop Gavin kept in the car. Her fingers flew across the keyboard at lightning speed. Watching her hands blur into motion, Gavin marveled at how much her hacking skills had improved.
Half a minute later, Natalie let out a small sigh. “Done. Every surveillance camera from here to the exit is down, Drive. Let’s go to the orphanage!”
When Hubert woke up, his eyes held a faint, simmering redness.
The chaotic mess in the room, coupled with the vivid images flooding his mind, left no room for doubt about what had happened.
Scattered shirt buttons littered the floor. His own hands, pale and slender, had torn them off one by one.
Everything pointed to one undeniable truth. The events were real.

Moments of intimacy flickered in his memory. He cupped her face, and it was Natalie’s face
This woman is truly haunting
Hubert’s thin lips curled into a faint smirk, but it carried a frosty edge.

Pulling out his phone, his long elegant fingers tapped the screen as he called his assistant, Dylan, instructing him to bring a
fresh suit.
As he adjusted his tie with a cold expression, Hubert gave another command. “Look into the surveillance at this club.
He needed to confirm that Natalie had drugged him to climb into his bed.
That woman, pretending to agree to a divorce as if she didn’t care about being Mrs. Lawson, was clearly playing underhanded tricks behind the scenes. How dare she drug me? I will make her pay.
“Yes, Mr. Lawson.” Dylan replied before heading toward the club manager’s office.
Scenes like this, with women trying to crawl into Hubert’s bed, were nothing new as it happened every year. But this time, Dylan was shocked that Hubert had actually fallen for it.
