Before she could finish speaking, she saw Charlotte and Kathy at the door.
Behind them stood Timothy, who looked both nervous and grim, signaling her with his eyes.
Claire and the other servants stood far behind. At first glance, she didn’t even recognize Jocelynn, who had never dressed so seductively in front of her before.
Jocelynn was stunned for a second. Then she tore off the bunny ears in a panic and straightened her flimsy silk nightgown.
“Lottie, Mrs. Lindsey, what are you doing here?”
Kathy’s gaze swept from her face to her nightgown.
It was so short and thin, almost like sexy lingerie. The chest feathers did nothing to hide her cleavage, while the bunny tail on the backside drew attention to her hips.
She had always appeared sweet and well–behaved, which turned out to be nothing but her facade.
Charlotte smiled and deliberately said in a teasing tone, “Wow, I’m practically drooling over you, Jocie. Are you seeing someone?
“How could you not tell me? Are we friends or not?”
“What? N–No. I don’t have a boyfriend…” Jocelynn’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment. How she wished she could vanish into thin air right now.

Kathy’s expression darkened as she frowned. “Jocelynn, you’re a student. You should focus on your studies.”
Claire rubbed her eyes a few times before finally confirming it was indeed Jocelynn standing in front of her. She snapped, “Jocelynn, how dare you! Who were you with last night?”
“Mom, I… I didn’t…” Jocelynn faltered.
“Don’t try to deny it! Look at yourself. You’re embarrassing me! Mrs. Lindsey covered your tuition, and this is how you repay her?”
The more Claire said, the more furious she became. Also, she was worried Kathy might stop funding Jocelynn in a fit of anger.
After scolding Jocelynn, she marched forward and slapped Jocelynn hard a few times.
Kathy had the kindest heart of anyone she’d ever met, and this might be their only chance to fix things.
A few loud, crisp smacks rang out, echoing in the room.
To ensure the act was convincing, she showed no mercy. Instead, each slap was delivered with brutal force.
Years of hard labor as a servant had given her formidable strength, leaving Jocelynn cry out in pain.
“Mom! Stop it! I didn’t… I won’t do this again. Please… Stop it!”
It broke Timothy’s heart.
How he wished he could step forward to stop Claire.
But with Kathy next to him, he could do nothing.

Kathy sighed, unable to bear it anymore. “Claire, that’s enough.
“Jocie’s an adult, after all. There’s nothing wrong with her dating. But, Jocie, you should be wise about who you go out with. Never go anywhere near punks.”
Hearing this, Claire knew Kathy wasn’t exactly mad. She secretly
breathed a sigh of relief and stopped. “Thank you, Mrs. Lindsey, for reminding Jocie.
“We’re always grateful to you and will definitely repay you in the future.”
Kathy glanced at her watch and said, “I gotta deal with work now, so I’ll skip breakfast.”
On the floor, Jocelynn cried miserably while clutching her cheeks.
“Lottie, take Jocie to the hospital. Make sure she’s fine. Also, comfort her a bit, will you?” Kathy said to Charlotte.
“Alright, Mom.” Charlotte nodded.
Then Kathy turned to leave, followed by the servants.
The second the elevator doors closed, Timothy hurried forward.
Picking Jocelynn up, he asked her gently, “Jocie, are you alright? Are you hurt?”
“Timo…” Tears streamed down her delicate cheeks as she leaned against his arms pitifully.
He looked up, all false gentleness gone as he glared at Charlotte. “Happy now, Charlotte? You did this on purpose. You wanted to humiliate Jocie. Look at her! Her face is all red and swollen. How could you? You’re so scheming and vicious.”

He no longer wanted to keep up the act.
Charlotte loved him so much–everyone knew she was his loyal simp. He was so certain she’d do anything for him as long as he asked.
He decided to tell her the truth. Jocelynn had always been the one he truly loved.
If she still wanted to marry him, she had to accept Jocelynn being his
mistress.
Charlotte asked, “What are you talking about?”
