Chapter 17
Panicking, she kept shivering violently, her whole body weak.
She staggered a few meters before being tripped by the barrier and crashing to the ground.
“Don’t come over!” Turning around, she glared at Timothy.
He smiled sinisterly and approached her step by step, the vicious look in his eyes undisguised.
Stopping in front of her, he bent down, grabbed her hair, and dragged her up forcibly. “What happened? Why did you stop?”
Her breath hitched as she struggled to stand on her feet.
“You bitch. I’ve been too lenient with you, haven’t I?”
Despair gripped her heart as she completely lost the power to resist.

She knew Timothy well–he had always been merciless, with dirty tricks up his sleeve.
There was no doubt he’d torture her in the worst, most humiliating ways possible.
Just as she closed her eyes in desperation, a car drove over.
It stopped in front of them.
Gregory stepped out the second he saw them. “What’s going on?”
“Gregory, this is between Charlotte and me. Stay out of this,” Timothy

said.
“Gregory! Help me…” Clutching her torn blouse, Charlotte looked at Gregory pleadingly.
Right after that, Charlotte’s nerves let go, and she passed out.
Timothy wiped the blood off his head and stormed over to her.
He thought she didn’t know what was good for her.
She used to be all over him, and yet he didn’t even care enough to touch
her.
But now she was pretending to be all high and mighty.
If she didn’t want him to touch her, he’d throw her to some lowlifes. Once they ruined her, he could still use that to control her, just like he did in his past life.

As Timothy bent down to pick up Charlotte, Gregory’s eyes turned cold.
He stretched out his arm to block Timothy. “What if I insist on stepping
in?”
Timothy straightened up with a sneer. “Don’t tell me you’re into this slut. If you want her, I’ll gladly let you have her…”
VOLK
Before he could even finish his sentence, Gregory punched him hard right
in the face.
He stumbled backward and smacked into the back of the car.
“Watch your damn mouth! She’s your fiancee!” Gregory’s voice was frigid.
Timothy’s lower back almost broke from the impact. He slid down to the

ground.
He forgot that he was back ten years ago, when he was still nobody, living off others.
He wasn’t yet a big shot in the business world, and he had nothing to pit against Gregory.
Gregory fixed Timothy with an icy glare, pulled out his phone, and made a call. “Bring some bodyguards to the garage right away and call the cops Someone just attempted rape.”
With that, he shrugged off his suit jacket and gently draped it over Charlotte’s shoulders. Then, with the utmost care, he lifted her into his
arms.
A couple of minutes later, Charlotte stirred from her faint, her eyes fluttering open in a daze. “Don’t call the cops… Please don’t…”
In her last life, she had been dumb enough to accuse Gregory of forcing
himself on her.
Her reputation got totally trashed, and for over ten years, people kept talking behind her back. Her parents were embarrassed, too.
Timothy used that to make her life miserable.
This time, she had to protect her good name.
“Don’t call the cops. Just take me home, please!”
Gregory frowned, thinking she didn’t want Timothy to go to jail.
“Alright,” he said, and carried her to the car.
Once in the car, Charlotte fainted again, her whole body limp like a kitten

as she nestled in Gregory’s arms.
The driver asked politely, “Mr. Bradford, where to?”
་
Gregory glanced at the injuries on Charlotte’s body. Taking her home didn’t seem like a good idea. “Kingston Manor,” he said.
“Got it.”
Kingston Manor was one of his many houses.
When he didn’t stay at the Bradford’s manor, he usually lived there.

Half an hour later, they were back at Kingston Manor.
The driver pulled up on the lawn, and a bodyguard immediately stepped forward to open the car door.
Gregory had a serious face on as he got out of the car with Charlotte in
his arms.
