Chapter7
The man in the room was sitting in a wheelchair. Tall and upright, his sickly face couldn’t hide his noble and handsome appearance. His physical disability couldn’t overshadow his imposing manner either.
Mariana’s eyes narrowed slightly. His aura was exactly like the man from that night at the Glitz Hotel.
He looked even more like that man than Kamron!
Just then, a bodyguard walked over from another room and said to her, “Mr. Montoya is especially waiting for you here, Ms. Mueller.”
Mr. Montoya…
Rumor had it that the person in charge of the Montoya Group was Edwin, who was elusive. It was said he had a short fuse, had been living abroad for years, and never came back to the country. Besides, he was disabled.
She wasn’t curious about why Edwin was in her room. After all, Forechester was his turf. What she was really curious about was his face.
His distant eyes held a rare tenderness. She tried to glance away, but his dark gaze was like a pull she couldn’t resist.
Edwin really looked exactly like the man from that night in her memory.
Mariana tried to keep her cool, memories of that hotel night flashing back. But before she knew it, her cheeks were burning up.

She thought, “That man is super strong. No way he is disabled. If Edwin can’t use his legs, the man in the hotel that night is still Kamron?”
She was a bit unsure.

But she always felt that the way Edwin looked at her was very complicated.
“I accept the conditions you proposed to Kamron, but I also have conditions,” Edwin said, interrupting her train of thought. His cold voice carried a sense of noble superiority.
“What?” asked Mariana.

“You’re going to marry into the Montoya family,” Edwin said, his thin lips tightly pursed, showing a bit of coldness. “Keep a low profile and have a secret marriage.”
“Why?” Mariana raised her eyebrows slightly.
“Don’t you know?” Edwin looked at her calmly, his gaze sharp.
Mariana wondered, “Is it because of what happened in the hotel that night?”
She looked at Edwin, sizing him up secretly. His calm and rational appearance made him seem like an elder stepping in to clean up the mess for Kamron.
This showed that the man that night was indeed Kamron.
But what puzzled her was that Kamron was riding high in his career. She couldn’t see how a secret marriage would help him now.
Mariana was a bit suspicious. She wrinkled her nose and then fixed

her eyes on the incense diffuser on the bedside. It seemed she had to solve another problem first.
She walked over, picked up the incense diffuser, and turned around. “Mr. Montoya, may I ask how long you have been in my room?”
“Ten minutes.” Edwin’s expression changed, and he looked over alertly.
“Please wait a moment. I’ll be right back.” She sized up the blush on Edwin’s cheeks as she walked out.
“You dare to make Mr. Montoya wait?” Behind her, Edwin’s bodyguard stepped forward to block her, his tone unfriendly.
Mariana calmly turned around, gently shaking the incense diffuser in her hand. “Mr. Montoya, if you don’t want to be manipulated by this stuff, it’s better for me to replace it as soon as possible.”
Although the incense diffuser in her room seemed no different from those in other guest rooms, the scent was a bit off. She wasn’t an expert on these substances, but she was sure there was something in it to turn people on.
Edwin’s brows twitched slightly. Sensing the slight warmth surging in his chest, he motioned for the bodyguard to let her pass.
Leaning on her crutch, Mariana went out and said without looking back, “For Mr. Montoya’s health, it’s best to open the windows and ventilate this room immediately.”
After going out, she handed the incense diffuser to the private detective outside the door and instructed, “Swap the incense diffuser in my room with the one in Sandra’s room. Let her reap what she sows.”
When she came back, the windows in the room were wide open, and

the blush on Edwin’s cheeks had faded a bit.
Edwin took another look at the petite woman in front of him. He just told his people to check the security age and found Sandra really had been in Mariana’s room before the party, fiddling with her bedside diffuser.
The scent of the incense diffuser was extremely faint. He wondered how she noticed it.
