As soon as Ralph and Sandra entered, Mariana smelled a familiar perfume.
It was the same kind of perfume Mariana used.
Interesting.
Mariana lowered her eyes and sneered.
Back then, she asked Ralph twice why he reeked of women’s perfume. Then, Sandra claimed to like her perfume and asked what perfume she was using with a fake smile.
After that, Sandra started to use the same perfume as Mariana’s to keep her love affair a secret… Sandra used all her brainpower on that.
Sandra didn’t know what Mariana was thinking and put on a friendly smile. “Mariana, I asked Ralph to come here and explain to you in person. Today, let’s talk everything through. No more hard feelings.”
“I got the gate pass for the Global Gala for Socialites. Are you sure you won’t feel jealous?” Mariana satirized her.
Sandra immediately waved her hand and smiled, “I’m not jealous. I feel happy for you!”
Ralph also walked over and gave Mariana a domineering hug. “Marie, I made mistakes because I was drunk. I promise that I won’t drink so much again. But nothing happened between Sandra and me. Believe me, you are my only love. Let’s get engaged again after a few days!”
Mariana wondered if love could make people stupid because she actually
believed Ralph’s sweet words back then.
She took a deep breath and swallowed her curse.
Ralph thought that she believed him and probed her, “Marie, tomorrow will be the annual anniversary of the McKinney Group. My dad will announce to the media that I’m joining the board of directors. After tomorrow, I can give you a better life!”
Talking about the prosperous future, Ralph continued quickly, “So, Marie, can you attend the anniversary with me tomorrow morning? Then the media will stop guessing…”
“Sure.”

Mariana gritted her teeth and nodded.
Ralph was so happy and kissed her face, feeling excited. “Great! Marie, don’t worry. I will make it up to you with a big surprise at our engagement party a few days later!”
“OK.”
Mariana blinked her eyes. Thinking about the plan she was about to carry out, she darkened her eyes slightly. “I also have a big surprise for you.”
She kept hugging Ralph and took his phone without him noticing it.
Ralph was only thinking about the prosperous future and didn’t even notice it. He also forgot that Sandra was behind them but only hugged Mariana intimately.
Sandra gritted her teeth but had to hide the hurt in her eyes. She faked a smile and said, “Mariana, Ralph, I’m so happy to see you guys make up!”
Mariana hid the sharpness in her eyes but sneered.

Ralph’s assistant pushed the door open and came in, saying in an anxious tone, “Mr. McKinney, something is wrong!
“The actor playing Sandra’s male co–star in this drama just denied the rumor. He said he had never filmed any intimate scene with her. Some haters took advantage of this and dug up every script Sandra had used, claiming that the bed scene wasn’t in any of her drama. Now it went viral on the Internet! The reports are waiting downstairs, and more people just keep coming!”
Sandra rushed over and grabbed the phone from Ralph’s assistant, reading through the comments online. She was so anxious, her eyelashes
flickering. “Mariana, what should I do?”
Sandra thought of Mariana whenever something went wrong.
Mariana darkened her eyes and said word by word, “Let’s leave here now, and I will think of a way to smooth things over.”
Ralph comforted Sandra, “Don’t worry. Mariana will help you.”
Without wasting time, Mariana took Sandra to leave from the backdoor and got in a car. Then, she texted Karlee, “The plan starts.”
Karlee replied right away, “Got it! I will show you what I’ve got!”

The car drove for a while. Mariana looked into the rearview mirror and asked in a dubious tone, “Are we followed?”
The driver sped down and paid attention to the cars behind them for a while. Then, he said cautiously, “Likely. The two cars behind us have been following us since we left the company.”
Sandra was worried and kept looking back. She asked in an anxious voice, “What should we do? They must be paparazzi.”

Mariana looked out of the car window and said confidently, “We will arrive at the McKinney Edifice soon. The security there is good. You can hide there. I will keep driving and lead the paparazzi away from you.”
Sandra didn’t know what to do and could only listen to Mariana. She got out of the car soon and entered the McKinney Edifice.
It was after work hours, but the security of the McKinney Group knew Sandra and her relationship with Ralph. So, no one stopped her.
Sandra had the access card and hid herself in Ralph’s office.
