Chapter 1
[Famous Hair Model Defies Company by Damaging Own Hairstyle, Faces $300,000 Penalty!]]
My phone lit up with today’s hot story.
One look at it and I was so pissed I just shut off my data.[]
Screw this–right now I need to figure out how the hell to get out of this godforsaken wilderness![]
And it’s all that bitch’s fault–I went in for a simple hair treatment and she chopped off my hair when I wasn’t looking, sticking me with all this debt!
Why am I out here “hiking” in the middle of nowhere?]
My fiancé’s genius idea.[]
Turns out the hairstylist is his precious first love, and I had the audacity to leave her salon a bad review, so… ta–da! Here I am stranded on Mount Hood.[]
Oh, and did I mention I’m three months pregnant?]
Now, you think my fiancé’s a total piece of shit too, right?
So fucking do I!
When I get back, I’m done with him.
Don’t want the baby, don’t want the job, don’t want any of it![]
I just need to get the hell out of here and keep going as far as possible!
…..]
“I mean, look at her–she’s already let herself go completely. Her own family’s about to disown her, and she still had the nerve to mess with Sienna?”
“So what if she lost some hair? Pay the damn fine and move on.“[]
“But no, she had to make Sienna’s life difficult. Well, this is what happens.“]
I stood frozen in the doorway, listening to Marcus’s words, my whole body shaking.
It had taken me seven whole days to crawl out of the Mount Hood, my clothes still reeking of sweat and rain.
Right up until this moment, I’d been holding onto hope–praying that the person who’d dumped me in that nightmare wasn’t him.[]
“Dude, aren’t you worried she’ll find out and call off the wedding?” one of his friends asked.]
Marcus let out a cold laugh.]
“Doesn’t matter if she finds out or not. I’m all she’s got. Nobody else would touch her now, and besides–she’s pathetically in love with
me.”

Chapter 1
His words cut through me like knives, each one drawing blood.[]
He was so sure I’d never leave him.[]
I forced a bitter smile and stumbled to the corner store to borrow their phone.[]
“Hello, Dad? It’s me, Vera.“[]
An irritated voice crackled through the receiver.]
“What the hell are you calling me for? I threw all your crap in the dumpster by the front door. Go dig through it yourself and stop bothering me. You’re an embarrassment.“[]
He hung up before I could say another word.[]
Marcus was right. Nobody wanted me anymore.[]
Even my own father had given up on me.[]
Ten years ago, Marcus had saved me from freezing to death on a mountain, giving me a second chance at life.[]
He used to say I had the most beautiful eyes![]
Later I realized it was because my eyes looked just like Sienna’s.]
He’d been looking through me at someone else this whole time.[]
I walked back into the rain and stumbled barefoot into the hospital.[]
“Hi, I need to schedule a pregnancy termination.“[]
After a full examination, the doctor shook her head grimly.[]
“You’re malnourished and extremely weak. Your uterine wall is dangerously thin, and at this stage in your pregnancy, the procedure would cause irreversible damage. You might never be able to conceive again.“[]
My face went ashen, fingers trembling.
“Do it anyway.“]
I couldn’t even take care of myself right now–how could I be so selfish as to bring a child into this mess?[]
The procedure was scheduled for a week later.[]
So, I dragged my broken body back home first.[]
“Damn, Vera, you look like absolute hell. Can’t even stay out of trouble when you’re pregnant.“]
Marcus’s expression was mocking.
His friends were trying not to laugh, hands covering their mouths.[]
He was such a good actor. Ten years of performance, and I’d fallen for every second of it.[]
I didn’t respond, just headed straight upstairs to our bedroom.]
Chapter 1
Behind the bedroom door were piles of uninflated “Happy Wedding” balloons and unwrapped flowers.
I’d almost forgotten.[]
Our wedding was supposed to be next month.[]
So, this was probably part of his plan to humiliate me too.
Timing it perfectly for when I’d really be showing.
Let everyone see the knocked–up bride.[]
I turned my phone back on and checked my agent’s messages.
She’d managed to buy me some extra time on the three million dollar breach–of–contract penalty.[]
All I felt was bitterness.
I was completely trapped.[]
