Chapter 9
I almost forgot she was ill.
Chloe looked at the blood with terror.
“I don’t want to die! I’m supposed to be the
future Mrs. Riley! I can’t die!”
She looked at Sam, pleading.
“Dr. Wilson, I’m your patient! Doctors are
compassionate, please ask Lily to let me go.”
I looked at Sam’s cast.
“Chloe, because of you, Sam can no longer
use a scalpel.”
“In return, you’ll experience a slow, agonizing
death.”
Ignoring her pleas, I left with Sam.
After dealing with Chloe and Ethan, I started
managing the company.
I was surprisingly talented, even my father
was impressed.
After two weeks, Ethan and Chloe were
crippled and left on the street.
Lee killed himself.
Ethan and Chloe had no skills and were
crippled, begging for food.
Chloe’s illness worsened. She begged doctors
for help.
The doctors were bribed; no one would treat
her.
Even if they did, they couldn’t cure her.
Sam, the only one who could, was ruined by
her.
Chloe watched herself weaken, her skin
rotting.
く
She blamed Ethan.
One night, she and Ethan drowned in a river.
Months later, Sam and I were healed.
It was my birthday, and Sam proposed.
I accepted, and we had a grand wedding.
At the wedding, Sam put the ring on my
finger and hugged me tightly.
I pushed him away.
He whispered in my ear,
“Lily, I finally saved you.”
I froze, remembering Sam appearing in the
factory to protect me.
He was reborn too.
Even knowing the danger, he still saved me.
I cried.
I kissed him.
The crowd applauded.
We have a long way to go.
