Ethan’s face paled. He tried to stay calm.
“Of course not. I just don’t want some
disgusting sight to offend you, Dad.”
“Dad, is there something important? Do you
need my help?”
My dad wanted to find me quickly. He
scanned Ethan coldly, then ignored him.
Chloe butted in, fawning over my dad.
“Mr. Riley, I’m Chloe Summers, Ethan’s
girlfriend.”
“Ethan often mentions you. I’m honored to
finally meet you.‘
My dad’s face darkened at the name Chloe.
If he hadn’t found me yet, I’m sure Chloe
would be dead.
Seeing me absent, my dad was about to
leave.
I tried to call out, but my throat was too sore.

I banged my elbow on the floor.
My dad paused, looking at the bodyguards.
Chloe stepped on my arm, silencing me.
Ethan kicked a bodyguard to the floor,
scolding him.
“What’s wrong with you, a Riley bodyguard?
Another stunt, and you’re fired!”
The bodyguard turned pale, bowing
repeatedly.
“Sorry, Mr. Riley, I won’t disturb Mr. Riley
again!”
Just as my dad was leaving, Sam struggled to
stand.
“Wait, don’t go, save Lily…”
Lee punched him unconscious.
But it was too late. My dad noticed Sam.
Lee quickly explained, “Mr. Riley, Sam is the
gold digger’s accomplice. I didn’t want you
misled!”
My dad paused at Sam’s name, remembering

He had a bad feeling, his face changing
instantly. He grabbed Lee’s collar.
“You said Sam? Explain! Who is this gold
digger?!”
Ethan’s face went white.
My dad slapped him.
“Bastard, where is Lily?!”
Chloe was startled, stepping in front of Ethan.
“Mr. Riley, what are you doing? Ethan’s your
son! You’re hitting him for a bitch?!”
She dragged me to my dad.
“Mr. Riley, look! She slept with you and wants
Ethan! There are many young doctors; find
him more! Don’t ruin your father–son
relationship for her!”
My dad knelt, brushing back my blood-
matted hair.
Seeing my familiar features and the gaping
wounds, he froze.

I opened my eyes, seeing his heartbreak and
rage.
The last time I saw this expression was when
I was kidnapped.
The kidnappers were killed, and the
mastermind perished in a fire.
Chloe had sealed her fate.
