“She’s fine. Don’t worry about her..”
After the call ended, the doctor awkwardly looked at me and approved my discharge.
I took Lily and left without looking back.
As the plane took off, the view outside the window was breathtaking…..

Meanwhile, Marcus seemed distracted during his vacation.
For some reason, he felt uneasy.
Melody was still playing in the water when she turned and saw Marcus staring blankly at his phone.
“Marcus?”
He snapped out of it.
Melody wrapped herself in a shawl and came over, linking her arm through his.
“What’s wrong? Are you u worried about Lily and her mom?”
“There’s nothing to worry about,” Marcus said curtly.
Melody frowned, lost in thought.
he toyed with her hair, her voice muffled.
After a while, she finally brightened up:
“Marcus, come play in the water with me.”
Usually at times like this, Marcus would indulge her every whim.
But now, he wasn’t in the mood at all.
“Melody, go play by yourself. I have things to take care of
Without waiting for her response, he turned and walked away
Melody pressed her lips together tightly following behind Marcus,
She saw him furrowing his brow, picking up his phone to look at it several times before setting it down in frustration.
She had keen eyes.
Melody clearly saw Marcus open a chat window labeled “Olivia Reed,”
Then she watched as Marcus called over his assistant.
Marcus’s voice was tense with irritation:
“Call Olivia and tell her to bring me some documents.”
The assistant respectfully agreed.
But two minutes later, the assistant returned with an odd expression.
“Sir, that woman’s her number is out of service.
Marcus didn’t react at first. He had only registered the words “that woman, and felt a twinge of discomfort.
After all, he was the one who had originally ordered his staff not to call Olivia “Mrs. Holt:
“What do you mean out of service? Did you dial the wrong number?”
<
Melody’s eyes darted around nervously.
She suddenly interjected:
“Marcus, did your wife run away?”
“Hah, she wouldn’t dare.”
Marcus scoffed. In his mind, his wife would never give up the Holt family’s wealth and power.
He was certain she was still waiting for him at home, with no pride or dignity left.
He immediately ordered his assistant to check the hospital.
After the assistant left, Marcus lay back down by the pool.
Something occurred to him, and his brow smoothed out
Melody sat down beside him. “Marcus, why do you hate your wife so much?”
As she said it, Melody realized that wasn’t quite right.
It wasn’t just hatred – it was more like the bitterness and resentment of someone who had been betrayed.
Marcus fell into deep thought.
After a long while, he
he finally spoke:
“She betrayed me once.”
Hearing this, Melody looked up in surprise.
That woman…she didn’t seem like the type to do such a thing.
Marcus’s gaze suddenly turned dangerous and cold.
Even now, he couldn’t forget how the person he trusted most had once betrayed him.
As a child, Marcus had two close playmates.
They had no names, only called 01 and 02.
01 and 02 were specially trained by his grandfather to be Marcus’s most trusted confidants. For as long as he could remember, they had always been by his side.
When Marcus was exiled to an island for brutal training meant to destroy his humanity, 01 and 02 went with him.
Marcus had had enough of that hellish life and wanted to escape the Holt family.
But on the day they tried to leave the island, 02 betrayed him, resulting in 01 being killed on the spot.
Marcus himself had nearly been beaten to death by his enraged grandfather.
Marcus never imagined that one day, 02 would reappear as his wife under a new identity.
He would never forget his grandfather’s demonic whisper:
“Who do you think you fell in love with? Marcus, your whole life is destined to be a joke.
“Olivia Reed is 02- the one who betrayed you back then!”

The assistant returned with an odd expression on his face.
He was holding a file folder.
When Marcus didn’t see the person he expected, his tone turned harsh.
“Where is she?“.
The assistant trembled nervously.
“Well…the hospital said she checked herself out. They said you approved it”
Hearing this, Marcus’s body went rigid.
Of course, he remembered that phone call.
Before Marcus could explode again, the assistant quickly added:
“I also went to the mansion to look. She and the young miss are both gone – oh right, I found this in the foyer.”
The assistant handed Marcus the folder.
Marcus took it with a puzzled look and opened it.
He leaned in for a closer look – it was a small red booklet.
Melody peered over curiously, then gasped, “It’s a divorce certificate?
Marcus throw the certificate to the ground, his face dark with anger.
“When did I ever agree to a divorce? Olivia has really lost her mind, even forging documents now”
