Chapter 7.
Tears filled Kelly’s eyes and flowed down her cheeks as she gazed at Eric, still trying her previously successful methods.
“Eric, I’m sorry. I just love you so much that I felt inadequate… This was the only way I could ensure you focused solely on me. I’ll completely cut ties with my cousin.
“Please, I genuinely understand my mistake. Delete this video, and I promise I’ll never repeat this. Eric, I love you!”
Clinging to Eric’s legs, Kelly clumsily attempted to undo his belt while she talked.
However, Eric pulled back as repulsive, pushing her

Kelly stared blankly at Eric, suddenly realizing his hatred for her was real.
Moments afterward, she erupted into a wild laugh. “Eric, do you really believe you can pin all the responsibility on me? From the beginning, I only left clues. If you truly cared for Olivia, how could you have overlooked the reality?
“And as for that night where we were together. You were drunk, but not so much that you couldn’t have stopped me if you wanted to. Yet, you didn’t.

My gaze at him was devoid of
any emotion.

He no longer evoked any emotional response in me.
Eric appeared to notice the serene detachment in my gaze as well.
His complexion slowly paled, and his hands shook as he came nearer and embraced me.
I didn’t like being this close, especially with the overpowering cigarette odor clinging to him. I hated that smell.
“Eric, I can’t stand the smell of smoke.”

I pursed my lips, conscious of the curious looks from those nearby, and still shied away from being the focal point.
Letting out a sigh, I said, “Let go of me first. We can discuss this elsewhere.”
Eric loosened his grip but stayed close, his eyes fixed on me as I walked
away.
The silence felt eerie–way too quiet. Eric noticed that my gaze treated him as if he were just an inconsequential stranger.
There was no hatred, no love.
He couldn’t stir any emotional response in me.
