Chapter 6
Nearly two weeks had passed since the night I made the trade and became all packs‘ rightful owner.
After exchanging all my emotions at the Eighth Pawnshop, I felt no attachment whatsoever. Without delay, I purchased the closest flight to New York and took off.
In New York, I pulled my coat closer while standing on the street, ordering a cup of chocolate milk.
Every now and then, I thought back–without emotion–about the agreement I’d signed.
I vividly remembered how strange that evening was, biting my finger, pressing the blood onto the contract, and feeling each emotion gradually fade away.
As I passed the time, I pondered what would become of Eric now that he had witnessed Kelly’s true nature.
My sacrifice of all emotions was to give him clarity of vision and heart, allowing him to see Kelly’s most malevolent side.
I had broken my old phone–the sole means of contacting me–and
discarded it. It was as if I had chosen the path of emotional detachment, feeling no particular fondness for anyone.

I accepted the chocolate milk, thanked the clerk politely, and turned to leave.
Just as I was about to step forward, a hand grabbed my wrist from behind.

I turned to see Eric, which didn’t really surprise me.

He was breathless, eyes wide with urgency as he said, “Olivia, I’ve finally found you…….”
A few days prior, he had stared blankly at the evidence his secretary had presented.
The secretary, standing nervously beside him, wished he could somehow erase the undeniable proof that his boss had been betrayed.
After examining all the evidence, Eric’s expression stayed the same. He carefully put the documents back in place and stated in a level tone, “You witnessed nothing, got it?”
The secretary quickly nodded, not wanting to jeopardize his well–paying position over this matter.
When Eric was finally alone, the office fell silent.

Unable to hold back his emotions, his twisted with anger, and he clutched a pen so fiercely that he flung it across the room, his words carrying a hint of bitterness.
Once he had calmed himself, he called Kelly
“Kelly, aren’t you interested in that bracelet? Join me at the auction tomorrow.”
Hearing Kelly’s unabashed excitement, Erie’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile.
The following day, he collected Kelly, and they headed to the auction venue together.
This event was very exclusive. Access required special connections.

Kelly leaned weakly against Eric’s chest, covering her mouth as she coughed softly, her eyes filled with reliance as she gazed at him.
“Eric, you’re so good to me.”
Suppressing the unease in his heart, Eric patted her back with an enigmatic air. “Is that so…”

As promised, Eric bid on the bracelet, even encouraging Kelly by saying he’d bid on more items if she found anything else she liked.
Observing Kelly’s flushed face, Eric struggled to contain his growing anger, thinking to himself. “It won’t be long now.”
When the final three items appeared, the host remarked suggestively on stage. “These last three pieces are exceptional. They’re quite different from anything that came before.”
Eric watched with a frosty expression as Kelly stood there, bewildered, until an embarrassing video featuring her as one of the main characters began to play on the stage screen.
Her face immediately turned pale as a ghost. She let out a piercing scream, shouting, “Turn it off! Turn it off!”
The audience turned their attention to the screen, quickly identifying Kelly as the star of the video. They began to jeer and murmur among themselves.
In a panic, Kelly turned to plead with Erie to stop the video. But when their eyes met, she felt weak and collapsed to her knees.
The only thing on her mind was that Eric had learned it all.
In his quest for revenge, he’d abandoned any shred of dignity.
With a hateful glare, Eric growled, “You and your beloved cousin have

deceived me for ages–pushing Olivia and me to this breaking point…”
His fury intensifying, he seized a handful of Kelly’s hair, his eyes red with
rage.
“If it weren’t for you, I never would have traded with that cursed witch, and Olivia wouldn’t have walked away from me.”
