Clinging to this delusion, Eric lay down and drifted into sleep.
This time, however, he experienced a frightening nightmare.
Gasping for breath as he tried to wake up, he found himself drenched in cold sweat, soaking the sheets.
In his dream, he saw all of Kelly’s actions as if he were an onlooker.
When Eric and I got married, Kelly didn’t go hiking because she was heartbroken. She had planned to meet her cousin for a secret rendezvous.
In the dream, Eric stood, stunned, as he watched them kiss.
Soon enough, they were entwined, with Kelly astride Adam Harlan, breathing heavily.
Adam slapped her ass hard. “The thought that Mr. Daston’s beloved is now in my arms is thrilling. So what if he’s wealthy? I still slept with his woman.”
Kelly giggled teasingly, “You’re so wicked… Once I marry Eric and Once I marry Eric and become Mrs. Daston, I’ll clear all your debts for you.”
Eric’s face turned pale, like he was about to charge forward and attack them, yet he stood frozen, only able to stare with bloodshot eyes at the scene before him.
Once they were done, Kelly lay on Adam’s chest, looking content, but when she stumbled upon a news article, she suddenly sat up, her eyes wide with shock and panic.

“Eric is marrying Olivia?”
Kelly and Adam devised a scheme together. Kelly pretended to be devastated, sent Eric an ambiguous message about her emotions, and faked falling off the cliff.

After that, events unfolded rapidly. Eric helplessly witnessed Kelly and Adam bribing both the doctor and the butler.
The butler openly ridiculed Olivia, taunting her about her lack of standing in the household.

The day Eric rushed to take Kelly away, he failed to see the slow bleeding from Olivia’s lower body.
Now, all Eric could do was clench his fists as he watched Olivia’s blood spread across the kitchen floor, where she remained until she regained consciousness and called for an ambulance herself.
When the doctor told them Olivia had lost their three–month–old baby, Eric experienced a dizzying wave of realization.
It was true. She hadn’t been lying to him…
As the doctor listed off a series of medical conditions, Eric began to shake uncontrollably. He glanced at Olivia in a panic, but she remained composed.
He remembered ignoring her call and hanging up abruptly.
The dream shifted rapidly. Eric witnessed Kelly sending a harsh message to Adam.
“Adam, are the vagrants ready? Tomorrow night, I’ll ensure Olivia’s total humiliation.”
Upon waking from the dream, Eric was overwhelmed with guilt. He sat

up and fixed Kelly with a cold stare as she lay in bed.

Kelly awoke to find Eric’s inscrutable eyes on her, causing a quick flutter
in her heart.
She swiftly regained her composure, snuggling closer to Eric by pressing her chest against his arm.
“Eric, your stare is making me feel embarrassed… Last night was my first…”
Eric glanced at the bloodstain on the sheets and felt a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth.
WHEN
He wrapped an arm around her with an enigmatic smile. “Your first time, huh… That must’ve been tough. Is there anything you want?”
Kelly paused momentarily before saying, “I want that villa in Bayside.‘
Without hesitation, Eric nodded firmly.

“Head to the hospital for a check–up. I have another matter to deal with later.”
Once the driver had taken Kelly to the hospital, Eric pulled out his phone and spoke to his secretary in a serious tone.
“Conduct a background check on Kelly, and also on the new assistant you hired.”
