Chapter 30
“You stole Bellona’s powers! Her dying confession revealed your treachery. How else could your divination vanish the moment she died? You’re a fraud, Amelia, and you will pay for your crimes!”
My wolf howled in agony inside me.
I had defied the Moon Goddess herself, gone against the very laws of our kind, to secure his throne.
And this was my reward – betrayal and humiliation.
For three long days and nights, they paraded me through the city, the stench of humiliation like a curse.

I became the laughingstock of the pack.
Back at the Seer’s compound, I scrubbed myself raw in a bath of moon – blessed water, desperately trying to wash away the stench and the memories.
The Seer watched with guilt – ridden eyes, his shoulders slumped in defeat.
“Amelia, you saved us-”
“The debt is paid,” I growled, my voice cold and hard.
“Alex and Bellona want me dead. There’s no place for me here. I’m leaving.”
Just as I was about to step out the door, the steward burst in, his eyes wide with fear.
“Another royal decree! Lady Amelia is

betrothed to Prince Steven, to wed alongside Prince Alex and Bellona in nine days!”
Bellona sauntered in, draped over Alex’s arm, a smug smile on her face.
“Isn’t it perfect? The sickly third prince. I hear his poison flares up at the full moon. It’s almost a pity you won’t have much time together.”
I met her gaze head – on, my eyes filled with disdain.
“Last I checked, you couldn’t read the stars to save your life. What happened to your new – found divination skills? Did they magically appear when it suited your needs?”
Her hackles rose, and she bared her teeth at

But Alex cut in. “Silence! Remember your place, Amelia. Bellona’s gifts are sacred, a blessing from the Moon Goddess herself.”
“Steven will be dead by the wedding night. But I’m offering you a chance. Become my concubine. Your ruined reputation makes you harmless, a perfect addition to my harem.”
I laughed, a cold, bitter sound that echoed through the courtyard.
“You’re a fool, Alex.”
His eyes darkened, and his voice turned menacing.
“Think carefully. Without me, you’re a rogue with a death sentence. With me… you can still serve a purpose. But cross me again, and I’ll make sure your death is slow and

painful.”
“Are you truly willing to throw your life away for my brother’s grave?”
Alex sneered, his wolfish eyes glowing with contempt.
“This time, the position of Luna belongs to Bellona. You’re nothing but concubine – material.”
“I know you remember our past lives. Keep your divination tricks to yourself and stay away from Bellona’s spotlight, or you’ll regret it.”
With a final growl, he whipped around,.
The next dawn, the scent of iron and old magic preceded Prince Steven’s arrival.

I caught a glint of primal power lurking beneath his weakened exterior–a spark of Alpha energy that hadn’t existed in our previous life.
“Amelia,” he rasped.
“I don’t have long. I’ll go to the Alpha’s and end this farce of a betrothal. You don’t deserve to be sacrificed for my curse.”
