Before I can exit the palace, I hear hurried footsteps behind me.
Prince Alex blocks my path, his eyes searching mine intently.
“Amelia, why didn’t you deny it? Where’s the girl who was so desperate to marry me?”
I laugh bitterly at his audacity.
“When have I ever expressed such a desire? You’re betrothed to Bellona now. You should keep your distance. If I had lied, the Luna would have investigated, and I’d be facing the death penalty. Is that what you want, Prince?”

“Amelia… you’ve been reborn, haven’t you?
Just like me.”
My heart skips a beat, but I keep my expression neutral.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He studies me, his voice turning menacing.
“Amelia, I don’t care if you’re pretending. Stay away from Bellona. Don’t even think about interfering in our marriage. Bellona and I are destined to rule together!”
I nod, turn, and walk away.
As I reach the gates of the Seer’s estate, a royal messenger arrives.

I can feel my wolf stirring within, a wild force that threatens to break free.

Servants sneered as they passed my chambers.
I ignored them, focusing on painting.
I knew exactly who was behind this smear campaign–Prince Alex, using his influence to avenge the Bellona of our past life.
Suddenly, the Seer burst into my room.
“Amelia! You must help! If the prince discovers Bellona has no divination powers, it’s treason! We’ll all be banished from the pack!”
My hand stilled over the painting scroll. “This is a decree. There’s nothing I can do.”

Before he could finish, Bellona slammed the door open.
“No! I’m the true daughter of the Seer! I deserve to be the Alpha’s Luna!”
“Bellona, this is for your own good” the Seer pleaded.
“I have to marry the prince,” she hissed.
“Because… we’ve already bonded.”
The room went deathly silent. So, they had been together even before this?
In our past life, I had been so consumed with protecting Alex that I’d been blind to their betrayal.

Bellona’s eyes filled with crocodile tears.
“Why do you always favor Amelia? I’m your real daughter!”
The Seer opened his mouth, then closed it again, unable to reveal the truth.
Bellona, thinking his silence was confirmation of her accusation, whipped around and slapped me hard across the face. “You witch! Just like your mother, seducing everyone around you!”
As she lunged for another attack, I sidestepped.
