Chapter 12
Felicia’s POV
I decided to delay our departure for three more days–just long enough to watch the drama unfold. Apparently, that was the wrong move, because Kevin instantly turned cold.
One second he was holding my hand
sweetly, the next he let go and took a whole step back like I’d personally offended his ancestors.
“Well,” he said, all sulky and
passive–aggressive, “aren’t you in high spirits, Miss Felicia. What’s the plan? Crash the engagement and steal the groom?”
I blinked at him, caught off guard, then let

out a soft laugh. “Seriously? What are you imagining? I’m not that dramatic. I just want to see how far they actually make it.”
He gave me a slow once–over, eyes narrowing like he didn’t quite believe me. Then he closed half the distance between us, reached out, and pinched my earlobe.
“You better remember, you’re the one who chose me,” he said, voice low and teasing. “If you dump me for no reason, I’m not letting you go, sweetheart.”
His fingers flicked playfully, and even though it didn’t hurt at all, my face still heated up- especially at that last word. I glared at him.
“Sweetheart? That sounds so weird coming out of your mouth.”
Kevin chuckled, clearly pleased with himself,

and leaned in even closer.
If Samuel was the gentleman type–calm, collected, and traditional–then Kevin was the complete opposite. He was trouble with a charming smile, a flirt in Alpha’s clothing. His dark eyes seemed to draw you in, and when he smiled like that, like he knew exactly how pretty he was? Dangerous.
“Well,” he murmured, “guess I’ll have to say it more often so you get used to your new identity. Sweetheart… sweetheart… sweetheart…”
He kept saying it in that rich, low voice of his, dragging each syllable out like a slow kiss. My cheeks practically caught fire.
I tried to push him away, just to get a little space and maybe breathe again, but he caught my hands easily. His eyes suddenly

softened, a flicker of something real flashing through the teasing.
“You know,” he said gently, “we haven’t even had our wedding night yet.”
I froze.
Yeah. That was true. Our so–called “wedding” had been all public spectacle–ceremony, feast, and nothing else. No private vows, no wedding toast, not even a proper toast with wine. Everything had been formalities.
And now, with that one line, Kevin had reminded me exactly what we’d skipped.
I ducked my head, heat rushing to my ears. “W–What are you even talking about…?”
But Kevin had never been the type to listen when he was on a roll. With a smirk, he bent

down and–just like that–swept me off my feet.
Literally.
I yelped, flailing as he carried me bridal–style toward our bedroom like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Kevin! Put me down!” I kicked my legs and halfheartedly thumped his chest, mortified. “Someone might see!”
Thankfully, we were still in our honeymoon period, and Kevin had given the staff a few days off. The house was empty, and my dignity–barely–remained intact.
He carried me all the way into our room, set me down on the bed, and pulled the curtains closed in one smooth motion.

The strap of my dress slipped off my shoulder, and Kevin’s gaze darkened, losing its usual mischief and turning into something deeper–something that made my heart skip.
I instinctively backed up until I hit the wall, and then he was in front of me again, arms bracketing my sides, eyes locked on mine.
There was no teasing now.
“Felicia…” he murmured, voice a warm rumble against my skin. Then his lips met mine.
And I didn’t pull away.
I didn’t want to.
I melted into him, letting his kiss pull me under, letting myself believe–for just a moment–that all of this was real. That I

wasn’t pretending. That Kevin wasn’t just the mate I married out of necessity.
His kiss deepened, his arms tightening around me, and I kissed him back until my lips tingled and my heart thudded against my ribs like it had never done before.
“I know you’ve been through a lot, and you’re still struggling. I won’t force you to do anything,” he told me, and my mouth curved into a smile
He was the only one to make me smile now.
Without thinking, I kissed him on the mouth, my hands held his face while his hands came behind my waist, I got up and sat on his lap without breaking the kiss
Our kiss grew more passionate as I felt his hands roaming all over my body. Suddenly,

he pulled away. ” Wait, are you sure?” he asked, staring into my eyes. I gazed at him as I thought about it
I wanted him, I wanted to feel him.
I nodded at him before kissing him again. This time he took control over me, his hand sneaked under my dress, he unhooked my bra as he helped me take off my dress, I removed my bra and my breasts collided with his chest.
After that I watched him take off his shirt revealing his muscular chest, he kissed me deeply before sucking my neck, he soon started to leave marks all over my neck as i couldn’t help but to moan his name, he kept on marking my skin “ahhh Kevin ” he bit when i called his name
lustful gaze crept into his eyes as he gave

me one last mark and moved toward my breast and left mouth open kisses, giving me butterflies as I arched my back, enjoying the moment.
