Half a year later, Michael was discharged from the hospital, his body now marked with countless scars. Dressed in a tailored suit, he once again carried the image of a powerful and respected Alpha
However, Charlotte never lost contact with him.
“Did you dream about Lily again last night?” Her voice was steady, careful.
Michael gave her a strange look.
“Yeah.” He set his cup of warm milk down. “She keeps trying to take me with her. I agree every time, but she always hesitates at the last moment.”
His delusions hadn’t faded–he still believed Lily’s presence was real.
Charlotte knew better than to argue. If she contradicted him, he’d shut down completely.
Then why isn’t Jessica there?” she asked gently. “You blame yourself for both their deaths, but only Lily appears. Why do you
think that is?”
Michael was caught off guard by her question. After a moment of silence, he thought it over and quickly concluded. “T deserve to die.”
He was never easy to talk to, and Charlotte had learned to accept that. Since he wasn’t a danger to others to the point of needing confinement, all she could do was offer him medication.
That was exactly what Michael wanted. He had no interest in facing his emotions–he only wanted the pills to dull the pain enough to get through his responsibilities.
To the outside world, he was seen as successful and brilliant, but only he knew how empty those achievements were.
After Lily passed, he learned that she had donated everything she owned to the werewolf charity, even her fangs.
She had always been that kind.
For years. Michael had done the same, giving away large sums of money, but it never felt like enough
When his time came, he would donate his fangs too.
After his treatment, he returned to his car.
A soft chime from his phone signaled a new message–an invitation to the 298th Werewolf Training Camp Comrades 10th Anniversary Banquet.
He had no interest in attending. Without hesitation, he deleted the message and drove to the cemetery.
Ignoring his parents‘ disapproval, he placed a nameless tombstone beside Jessica’s–the one he had chosen for Lily.
Sitting on the ground before Jessica’s grave, he cradled a bottle of wine in his hands.
“Jessica” His voice was laced with confusion. “Can you ask Lily when she’ll finally let me die?”
He received ng response.
On the tombstone, Jessica’s youthful smile remained frozen in time, while Michael had long since passed 30.
The winters in Bluemoon Pack were bitterly cold, like stepping into a freezer.
Concerned for the Alpha’s well–being, Michael’s assistant carried his drunken body back home,

He recalled Charlotte’s advice from the day before–spending time in nature might help his mental state. Though he didn’t believe it, he decided to follow her suggestion.
Other than the psychologist he had seen for three years, there was no one left in his life.
His bones shifted and cracked as his body changed form.
Soon, a massive gray wolf stood under the moonlight.
Tilting his head back, he let out a howl, then leaped onto the windowsill, jumped down, and sprinted into the forest.
Each time his paws hit the ground, he left a space beside him–one that had always belonged to Lily.
They used to shift together, racing through the trees.
As an Omega, Lily could only run at full speed for about five minutes before needing a break.
During those moments, she would gather wild raspberries, savoring their tart sweetness.
Years later, Michael had planted an entire patch of raspberries for her. But she could never taste them again.
As he reached the bushes and reached out to pluck a berry, the sharp snap of a branch breaking behind him made him pause.
Turning around, he saw a young girl holding a basket filled with raspberries.
She was an Omega. When she noticed him, she flinched, her voice trembling. “I–I’m sorry. I thought these berries were free to take. I didn’t know they belonged to you. I–I’ll pay for them.”
She was young, her presence stirring up memories of Lily.
Michael’s face remained unreadable as he shook his head. “No need
Without another word, he took off running, heading toward Bluemoon Valley.
By the time he arrived, the sun had risen.

Laughter and cheerful voices filled the air.
From a distance, Michael watched as a small group gathered to watch the sunrise.
