Chapter 30
Q.S. sent her a message, “How’s it going? Did yesterday’s incident
cause you any trouble?”
Andrea stared at the message for a full minute.
She suddenly realized it was Quinn.
She bit her fingernail, slowly typing, “No.“”
The typing indicator flickered for a long while, and finally, a message came through, “Are you free tonight? I’d like to treat
you to dinner as an apology.”
If Roderick saw this, he might go mad. Andrea didn’t want to provoke him before leaving.
“No need.”
After replying, she exited the chat, and her heart was pounding.
The phone didn’t buzz again.
Andrea continued listing her books on the second–hand website, lowering the prices again and again.
Just as she was considering whether to give them away for free,

some notifications popped up on the app.
“User Shepard has purchased your ‘Pride and Prejudice.“”
“User Shepard has purchased your ‘The Little Prince“”
“User Shepard has purchased your ‘The Kite Runner“”
Andrea’s eyes widened.
This Shepard bought all her books without bargaining!
Looking at a few hundred more dollars in her account balance,
she couldn’t help but laugh.
Humming a tune, Andrea packed the books, especially placing a
bookmark she bought in Brambleshire inside “Pride and
Prejudice“. It had a quote on it from Jane Austen, “Vanity and
pride are different things.”
After packing the last book, Andrea stretched in a relaxed way.

In the penthouse suite of the Grand Oasis Hotel, Roderick stood
by the French window, overlooking the lights of the whole city.
He loosened his tie, the platinum cufflinks on his sleeves
reflecting the cold light.
Chapter 30
“Mr. Hodgson, here are the flowers you ordered.””
The hotel manager knocked respectfully and entered, followed
by waiters pushing six trolleys. Each trolley was filled with
“Snow Queen” Rose flown from Valkoria.
Each of these premium white roses was worth a few hundred
dollars. They were like snow waves that filled the room with a
rich fragrance.
“Put them there.” Roderick pointed to the round bed already
covered with fresh petals.
“Roderick, you spent a lot!”
Roderick’s friend, Leonard Doyle, leaned against the bar,
swirling the whiskey in his glass. “I heard you also ordered a
custom Van Cleef & Arpels necklace?”
Roderick didn’t respond, just took the velvet jewelry box
handed by his assistant.
As the box opened, everyone in the room gasped.
The emerald was encircled by rare pink diamonds. It shone like
a dream under the light.
“This must cost over 200 thousand dollars?”
Chapter 30
Someone exclaimed, “Just to apologize to her? That’s a huge
expense.”
Roderick snapped the box shut, and his eyes became cold. “If I
don’t do this, how will she fall for me completely?”
Lately, he often felt that he was going to lose control of Andrea.
The sudden appearance of Quinn and Matilda’s constant
provocations to Andrea. Everything made Roderick anxious.
The room fell silent.
Because of his arranged fiancee, he had to spend a lot and
apologize to his enemy’s daughter?
Everyone looked at each other, all feeling confused.
Leonard broke the silence. “Alright, let’s not worry about it.
Roderick has his own plans.”
He turned to the orchestra members who were tuning their
instruments. “Are you guys ready with ‘Adagio in G Minor‘?
Andrea loves this piece the most.“”
The orchestra leader nodded quickly. “Mr. Hodgson specifically
instructed it. We’ve practiced it all week.“”
Roderick walked to the grand piano, unconsciously pressing a

few keys.
This was the limited–edition Steinway piano that Andrea loved
the most. Roderick remembered that she always played
“Mariage d’Amour“, her fingers dancing on the keys like
butterflies.
All of this was just part of the trap he carefully set, luring her
into a dreamlike romance, only to pull her down from the
heaven of happiness into hell.
Roderick would make her feel the pain of losing everything!
“Roderick, we’ve also prepared a special gift for you.”
His friends brought out a wooden box, opening it to reveal
several hidden cameras.
“I bought these at a high price.”
“Ultra HD 4K cameras, guaranteed to capture every detail.”
“Hurry up and set them up in the suite.”
“Especially the bedroom. We need to capture Roderick’s
amazing videos.”
Everyone rushed to set up the cameras. They didn’t notice
Roderick standing aside with an extremely dark face.
Chapter 30
“Stop!”
Roderick’s low, angry voice instantly froze the cheerful vibe.
“Roderick, are you shy?”
“I think Roderick doesn’t want to share the videos. He wants to
keep them private.“”
“Roderick, don’t be so stingy. Share with us!”
“Bang!”
The person who was speaking was pressed against the wall by
Roderick.
The crystal chandelier cast sharp shadows on Roderick’s sharp
face, his dark eyes filled with rage.
“Dare to say another word?”
Roderick’s voice was light, yet it scared everyone. “I’ll make your
construction company go bankrupt tomorrow.”
The person being held against the wall turned pale and nodded
repeatedly.
Everyone closed their mouths. They followed Roderick for
years and knew he was really furious now.
Chapter 30
“Don’t tell me you really fell for that homewrecker’s daughter?”
Leonard tentatively asked.
