Chapter 29
The two of them lay together closely, and soon Andrea heard
his steady breathing.
Roderick fell asleep.
She wanted to get up, but she saw Roderick’s phone slide out of
his suit trousers, the screen lighting up.
She looked at Roderick’s closed eyes.
Andrea waited for a few minutes, making sure he was asleep,
then carefully reached for the phone.
Her fingers touched the cold metal case, and her palms were
covered with sweat.
The phone screen dimmed, and it locked.
She gently pressed the power button and saw a solid blue
screensaver with no notifications.
Andrea bit her lip, entering Roderick’s birthday. It was
incorrect.
She hesitated for a moment, then entered the company’s

founding date–still wrong.
The third time, she entered her birthday.
“The password is incorrect. One attempt left.”
Andrea pursed her lips and laughed at herself.
“Check my messages?”
The deep voice suddenly rang out, and Andrea almost threw the
phone away in panic.
Roderick already opened his eyes, looking at her with a teasing
smile.
His eyes in the moonlight were very sober. He was not like a
drunk man at all.
“Well…” Andrea put the phone back nervously. “I don’t know
the password…”
Roderick propped himself up, slowly approaching her.
The smell of alcohol mixed with his own scent hit her, and
Andrea instinctively shrank back, but her neck was caught by
Roderick from behind.
“Wanna know my password?”
Chapter 29
His breath was hot, and his thumb was rubbing against the skin
on the back of her neck.
Andrea forcefully pushed him away and stumbled to get up.
She straightened her nightgown and said in a trembling voice,
“My tummy aches. I’m going to the bathroom.”
Watching her fleeing figure, Roderick’s gaze gradually became
cold.
After hearing the door of the next room closing, Roderick picked up his phone, unlocked it, and played the only video in the hidden album.
Andrea curled up in the quilt in pain all night. The silk quilt cover wrinkled from her tight grip.
When the first light of dawn came, she finally fell asleep.
When she woke up, the room was full of bright sunlight.
She reached out to touch the other side of the bed. The sheets were cold and smooth. It was clear that nobody slept there last night.
Roderick had already left.
Andrea sat on the edge of the bed for a while, her bare feet

pressing against the carpet. She looked at the traces that she and
Roderick left in this room.
She needed to leave as soon as possible!
Andrea started packing again, leaving behind the expensive
custom dresses in the wardrobe, only taking a few casual
clothes.
She picked some skincare samples from the dresser.
When she got to the study, Andrea paused.
There was a photo of them skiing abroad on the bookshelf. The
glass frame was spotless.
In the photo, she was smiling widely. Although Roderick’s face
was still stern, his eyes were gentle.
That day, she fell down countless times. Roderick carried her
down the mountain in the end.
Andrea turned the frame face down on the bookshelf.
Apart from the gifts Roderick gave her, she only took a few
small items.
As for other things that she couldn’t take, Andrea listed them on
a second–hand website.
Chapter 29
Suddenly, a friend request popped up on her phone.
“Q.S. sent you a friend request.”
“Note: Recommended by alumni contacts.”
Andrea’s fingers hovered over the screen.
She didn’t recognize this WhatsApp ID, and the avatar was a
black image.
Who would add her now?
Her phone buzzed again.
