Chapter 27
Seeing him enter, everyone stopped what they were doing.
Roderick’s expression was terrifying. They all felt a sense of
danger.
“Hi, Roderick.”
Someone reacted first, raising his glass. “We just opened a 25-
year–old whisky.”
Roderick didn’t say a word, grabbed the bottle on the table, and
chugged it.
The amber liquid slid down his jawline, soaking his shirt collar.
“Damn!” He smashed the empty bottle on the table, the sound of
shattering glass making everyone shiver.
They knew it was definitely because of Andrea.
“Roddy, tell us, what did that homewrecker’s daughter do to
make you so mad?”
“Yeah, tell us, we’ll help you to teach her a lesson.”
“That bitch is so bold now, daring to make Roddy angry.”
Chapter 27
Roderick glared at them. “Shut up!”
The room suddenly quieted down.
Someone gave a signal to the manager, and he immediately understood, clapping his hands.
A group of girls in high slit dresses entered, lining up in front of the table.
There were blonde beauties from Normarsh, mixed–race
beauties from Beldrin, cute young women from Merfland, and a few elegant women from other areas.
“Mr. Hodgson, pick one?” the manager asked with a smile.
Roderick didn’t even raise his head, just opened another bottle of wine.
“Come here. Toast to Mr. Hodgson.””
Several girls toasted Roderick one by one, but Roderick just wanted them to get lost.
But his gaze suddenly fell on a girl standing at the corner.
She had round, big eyes, a delicate nose, and slightly downturned lips. She looked like the girl he was mad at.
Chapter 27
Roderick’s vision blurred from the alcohol, and he seemed to see
Andrea standing there, wearing an exposed dress, looking at
him with the familiar affectionate gaze.
“You,” he pointed at the girl and said with an extremely hoarse
voice.
The girl walked over hesitantly and knelt beside Roderick.
She smelled of cheap perfume, which was totally different from
what Andrea usually wore.
Roderick frowned, but still let her pour him a glass of wine.
“Mr. Hodgson…” The girl’s voice was very light, with a practiced
coquetry. “Let me feed you?”
She brought the glass close to Roderick’s mouth. From this
angle, her profile under the light was even more like Andrea’s.
Roderick suddenly grabbed her wrist. His grip was too tight and
made her gasp.
Roderick–thought they were too similar.
The eyes, the hesitant expression…
Alcohol burned in his veins, and he imagined that Andrea was
pressed against the bed by him, finally removing her perfect

mask and showing her vulnerable heart.
“Mr. Hodgson.” The girl’s voice trembled, pulling him back to
reality.
It wasn’t her.
He was like being thrown over by ice water.
Roderick abruptly let go, and the girl fell back. The glass
shattered on the floor, red wine spilling on the white carpet like
blood.
“Get out.” He closed his eyes, his voice filled with disgust.
The girl quickly left, and the room fell deathly silent.
Roderick raised his head and leaned against the couch, covering
his eyes with his arm.
He recalled how Andrea looked at Quinn with a grateful
expression and the words she said to Quinn.
Roderick thought he should hate her.
“Another bottle.” He lowered his arm, saying to the frozen
manager.
“You’ve had enough.”

“Another bottle,” he repeated slowly.
A bottle of wine was quickly brought over,
Roderick stared at the twisted face reflected on the bottle, then
he seemed to see Andrea’s face again.
Damn it!
He took another shot, the fiery liquid burning his throat.
“Shit!” Roderick suddenly smashed the glass against the wall,
shards flying everywhere.
