Chapter 25
Chapter 25
“You made plans with him right in front of me?”
He gripped her waist hard, his eyes bloodshot. “Wrong move,
Andie.”
“I just wanted my earring back. It’s a gift from you, remember?”
she explained softly, trying to soothe him.
But he kissed her abruptly, even more fiercely than earlier.
Truly fed up with his insane behavior, she pushed him away
hard and smoothed her gown while her thoughts drifted away
to Quinn on the other side of the door.
She thought, “Has Quinn really left?
“How much did he hear?”
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she thought he
might be listening to them outside the door.
“Andie, you’ve turned me down so many times in one day,”
Roderick protested, biting her lip in dissatisfaction.
Just as he slipped his hand under her gown, a thunderous sound

rang out, shaking the entire room.
The door hit the floor with a heavy thud, revealing Quinn at the
doorway with a casual smile.
“Oops–too much force, I guess.”
His gaze swept over the two people on the sofa in their
disheveled state, lingering on Andrea’s rosy lips for an extra
second. “Sorry for the intrusion.”
Andrea quickly adjusted her gown.
Being seen like this left her utterly humiliated.
Meanwhile, Roderick slowly stood up, his gaze terrifyingly
sullen. “Get out.”
But Quinn totally ignored him. He walked toward Andrea,
extended his hand, and spread his palm, the diamond earring
sparkling under the light.
“I believe this is yours,” he said, looking her in the eye.
She wanted to take it, but Roderick grabbed her back inside his
arms the second before her fingertips touched it.
“Thanks.” He snatched the earring back. “And goodbye.”

Quinn smiled, his gaze darkening a bit as he swept it over her
slightly open collar. “Ms. Rehbein, let me know at any time if
you need help.”
“She doesn’t,” Roderick said word by word.
A tense silence hung heavy between them.
Andrea tentatively tugged at Roderick’s sleeve, wanting to calm
him down, but he mistook her intention, figuring she was siding
with Quinn.
“What? You can’t bear to see him leave?”
Andrea wanted to leave as soon as possible. She took a deep
breath and said to Quinn, “Thank you for bringing me the
earrings. We should leave now.””
After saying that, she pushed Roderick to leave.
Quinn watched the two of them gradually move away, showing
an unreadable expression.
Roderick didn’t say a word in the car, and Andrea also kept
silent. The atmosphere was tense.
They arrived at home, and Roderick got out first, then pulled
Andrea out of the car.
Chapter 25
The black suit wrapped around his broad shoulders tightly,
exuding a sense of danger.
His steps were quick and heavy, forcing Andrea to follow him.
Andrea’s wrist ached from being grabbed by him.
“It hurts,” she muttered.
Roderick ignored her, but his thumb unconsciously rubbed her
wrist.
Andrea’s heart skipped a beat.
Without giving her time to think about it, Roderick pulled her
into the house.
As soon as the door closed, she was pushed against the cold
metal wall.
Roderick’s one hand rested on the wall close to her ear, the other
still holding her wrist.
His hot breath hit her cheek, carrying a strong scent of whisky
and mint.
“Tell me!”
His voice was low, and he almost couldn’t hold back his anger.
“When did you start hanging out with Quinn?”
Chapter 25
Andrea’s eyelashes fluttered, and she was forced to look up at
him.
Their gaze met. Roderick’s usually sharp gaze was now dark and
unreadable.
His eyes were like a stormy sea, full of emotions she couldn’t
understand.
