Chapter 12
Darwin stared in disbelief at the body covered with a white cloth not far
away.
He refused to shed a tear until he saw the coffin. In order to make him
face reality, George drove Darwin here half an hour ago.
“Early this morning, I received a call from Tamara. She said she had found out about the Crawford family’s plot and asked me to bring people over quickly. I guessed it must be because of the last shipment, the Crawford family was desperate and resorted to such dirty tactics.
“But I was still one step too late. By the time I arrived, she had already been tortured beyond recognition.”
Darwin’s mind was buzzing, he didn’t even hear George’s words, just staring blankly at the spot, completely lost.
Just a few steps away, yet he didn’t even have the courage to take a step.
The process of getting to know Tamara started playing in his mind like a
movie.
The first time we met was on the university campus.
At that time, he had just learned from someone else that Bella was going to get engaged to someone else. He was both angry and upset, feeling extremely frustrated.
After breaking up with Bella, he started to play around with other girls, trying to maintain his ridiculous dignity with a mask of charm.

Chapter 12
The sudden bad news that came up exposed his disguise completely.
He suffered greatly, feeling so miserable that he wanted to kill someone.
It was at that time when he met Tamara coming out of the library.
Tamara was dressed in a white dress, with a faint smile on her lips, so beautiful that it was hard to look away.
Somehow, Darwin suddenly froze.
He remembered that at that time, his heart was beating extremely fast.
He didn’t know why he had such feelings until someone said a word.
Tamara was very much like Bella.
I don’t know if it’s just in my head, but ever since he heard that sentence, he would uncontrollably associate her with Bella.
Gradually, a voice began to emerge in my heart.
He liked Tamara because she looked like his unrequited first love, Bella.
Darwin accepted this view.
It wasn’t until he saw Tamara’s body lying in front of him that he finally realized how wrong he had been all these years.
Darwin didn’t know how long he had been standing still until his legs started to feel numb, and only then did he lift his foot to move closer.
He had never known before that a piece of white cloth could weigh a thousand catties.
He tried his best but couldn’t lift it.
Chapter 12
“Darwin, don’t look.”
George couldn’t bear it in his heart.
Darwin took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and finally mustered up courage once again.
The white cloth fell to the ground.
The man’s body lay completely exposed in front of him.

The wounds crisscrossed, the injuries on the body were even more severe than Bella’s, and even the face was completely destroyed.
Only the ring on the ring finger of the right hand was still faintly shining.
They used to be a couple before.
Seeing this ring, Darwin suddenly felt as if all his strength had been drained from his body, and he instantly collapsed to the ground.
The last hope in my heart shattered.
Tears burst out.
He cried like a child, recalling the things he had done to him before, endless guilt almost engulfed him.
He had never been as desperate as he is now.
The world, as far as he was concerned, had lost its color.
At this moment, his heart told him decisively.
Tamara was just Tamara.
She was nobody.
Chapter 12
The rapid heartbeat when we first met was the best proof of being wrong.
He liked her.
He loved her!
Darwin held the gruesome corpse, as if cradling the rarest treasure of time.
He held her in his arms, not knowing what the world was.
Time passed by minute by minute.
Just as George thought he was finally willing to accept reality, Darwin’s eyes suddenly flashed.
The next second.
The corpse was simply thrown on the ground.
“Dad, you don’t actually think I believed she was Tamara, do you?”
Darwin wiped away his tears, slowly got up, and looked at George.
“So, where was Tamara?”
