Chapter 13
Andrew remained calm and looked over with an indifferent expression, kindly expressing a few words of concern.
“Did it hurt? Was I too strong?”
Hailey suddenly realized her loss of composure and quickly shook her head a few times.
He saw that she didn’t seem to be in pain, but rather scared. Andrew reflected on his words and actions just now, and pulled back his hand that hadn’t finished taking the medicine, continuing his work.
After learning the truth, Hailey held her breath and her eyes darted over the people in front of her, quietly observing.
Hmm, the eyelashes were long and curled, a bit envious; the fingers were slender, perfect for painting some nail art on them; the hair was lush, not quite like a medical student…
While waiting for the medicine to take effect, Hailey had more than a dozen thoughts swirling in her mind, and the more she looked, the more she became entranced.
As Andrew finished bandaging, he looked up and saw her eyes full of scrutiny, with a hint of surprise flickering in the depths.
“What happened?”
“Dr. Green… Andrew… brother.”
In a matter of seconds, she switched between three different ways of addressing, each of which felt inappropriate, resulting in a strange title.
Looking at his inquisitive gaze, Hailey hesitated and struggled for a long time before finally deciding to ask gently.
“Did you personally pick out those jewelry in my house?”
Andrew nodded slightly.
“Yes, don’t you like it? Then when you have time, we can go pick some again?”
Hailey quickly shook her head and squeezed out a bright smile.
“Liked, really liked.”
After being together for several hours, I finally saw her smile.
Although the smile didn’t seem genuine, Andrew’s hidden worries slowly dissipated.
At least the first time we met, the initial impression was quite pleasant.
That was enough.
Caroline stayed in the hospital for a week, and her bones had become weak.
On the day of discharge, the rain in Northvale finally stopped after three days.
After Bryan dropped her off at home, he turned around and was about to leave,
She wanted him to stay and have a meal together, but he frowned and made excuses to decline..
Watching his figure disappear at the door, Caroline concealed her feigned sense of disappointment and picked up her phone to call a few girlfriends.
“Has Hailey been discharged? I haven’t seen her in the hospital these days. She’s really lucky, she wasn’t killed in the accident.”
Bryan’s hand, holding onto the doorknob, froze as he listened to Caroline’s triumphant tone from behind the door.
“Bry left, probably went to find her. It’s okay, I’ll just send a message later, and he will definitely come back.” Chapter 13

Mr. Parker’s head was cracked open. She really went all out, next time we should bring more people, I doubt she’ll be able to hide from us!
“Bry definitely believed me. Hailey said she wanted to watch the surveillance footage, but he completely ignored her. You guys didn’t
see her expression at that time, otherwise we would have burst out laughing on the spot.”
Caroline’s relentless criticism, one after another, fell into Bryan’s ears like thunder.
Surveillance?
He suddenly remembered the situation before leaving the bar, and his whole body tensed up.
What really happened before he arrived that day?
His hand involuntarily clenched, and his brow furrowed tightly.
After a few more laughs in the room, it returned to tranquility.
A huge wave surged in Bryan’s heart.
He didn’t have time to worry about the car keys left inside, so he turned around, stopped a car, and rushed to the bar.
Under the pretext of losing something, Bryan successfully accessed the surveillance footage from a week ago.
The scene showed that Caroline’s sisters emptied the people in the bathroom. When Hailey went in, they put up a maintenance sign at the door and left.
Then, the man that Caroline brought with her, took advantage of the empty surroundings and entered the restroom.
A few minutes later, Hailey ran out in a panic and slapped Caroline, who was waiting at the door.
The video clearly recorded their conversation.
Bryan’s face became increasingly unpleasant as Caroline spoke those words.
What he found most difficult to accept was the video recorded by the camera at the entrance.
Caroline’s two sisters were driving an electric scooter, speeding all the way, and directly knocked Hailey out of the camera’s view.
He remembered the phone call that night, and then he remembered the words Caroline had said on the phone just now, feeling as if his whole body had frozen.
His heart pounded like a drum as he took out his phone to message Hailey.
Just as I pressed the send button, a pop–up message with a red exclamation mark appeared on the screen, indicating that the message failed to send.
Did Hailey delete his Facebook?
As soon as this thought appeared, Bryan’s hands started trembling uncontrollably, and he quickly switched to the dialing page and made a phone call.
After a long beep, there was a cold female voice prompt.
Phone, also blocked?
Bryan felt as if something was blocking his throat, making it difficult for him to breathe.
He couldn’t control himself anymore, so he dashed downstairs and stopped a car to rush home.
As he pushed open the door, he saw the living room that made him feel extremely unfamiliar, and he was completely stunned. The exhibition cabinet that used to hold many dolls, the photos hanging on the wall, and the desk filled with piles of sketches… As far as the eye could see, everywhere that used to have Hailey’s belongings is now completely empty, with nothing at all. He walked into the room incredulously, only to find that the study, bathroom, studio, and bedroom were all spotlessly clean.
Bryan turned the entire apartment upside down, but didn’t find any items related to Hailey.
She, along with everything, disappeared without a trace, as if evaporated from this world.
But she had no acquaintances in Northvale, she didn’t even say hello, so where could she go?
Bryan’s mind was blank, and his eyes were filled with confusion.
His eyes looked around, and suddenly caught sight of a letter on the bedside table.
He hurriedly ran over and opened it, but as soon as he saw the first line of words, his whole body froze.
“Bryan, let’s break up.”
