Chapter 7
When the two people arrived at the scene, they realized that it was already late.
A few friends watched the live footage on the big screen, their hearts all clenched.
“Too late! They have already left. If something happens, how are we going to explain it to Uncle Reid?”
“Pah, pah, pah! Speak less of ill omens!”
“I knew it, as long as he’s involved with Caroline, this guy goes crazy, not even ten horses can pull him back! Before, it was just fighting and maybe getting some punishment, but now he’s even willing to risk his life, he’s truly gone mad!”
Upon hearing these complaints, Roy, who had not even caught his breath, quickly nudged his friends with his elbow.
A few people turned around and saw Hailey, then they closed their mouths.
Twenty minutes later, two roaring sounds came from a distance, gradually becoming clearer.
Hailey looked at the alternating leading two cars on the screen and then glanced at the last three kilometers of the road, furrowing her brow tightly.
A few minutes later, two racing cars appeared in the sight of everyone.
This also meant that the competition was about to end.
Bryan’s race car was in front, but the gap was not significant.
In the final sprint, a few friends watched the constantly changing numbers on the screen and were so angry that they immediately burst into curses.
“Bryan, you fucking have a death wish, don’t you!”
Hailey followed their gaze and saw the black race car zoom past like a lightning bolt, so fast that only a blur could be seen.
100 meters, 50 meters, the last 10 meters…
Bryan did not slow down and crossed the finish line first.
in order to win the victory, he paid the price by smashing the suspension equipment outside the finish line, and then flipping out with both the person and the car.
The competition ended.
Several friends who were waiting at the finish line scattered and rushed over to rescue Bryan, who had fallen and was covered in blood.
He spat out blood in big mouthfuls, and the light in his eyes slowly faded away.
“Take, take the necklace, bring it over, give, give it to Caroline, don’t, don’t mention today, today’s matter…”
Before losing consciousness, Bryan only left behind the last sentence, which was also the only sentence.
This is for Caroline.
It had nothing to do with Hailey, who was waiting on the side.
Just a little bit more, Bryan’s left hand bones would have been shattered, and his career would have been almost ruined.
After the surgery, he remained unconscious, but he kept muttering Caroline’s name.
Watching him still fearful and anxious in his dreams, Hailey silently averted her eyes.
One night passed, the effect of the sedative dissipated.
Bryan opened his eyes and looked at the person sitting by the bedside, their face filled with exhaustion. His heart softened a little. Chapter 7

“Did you stay up all night watching over me?”
Hailey pressed her forehead and murmured softly.
He saw the exhaustion in her eyes and gently rubbed her head, saying, “You’ve worked hard.”
Hailey spoke calmly, “No worries, you are my brother’s best friend, and it’s only right for me to take care of you.”
She said it in a very wrong way.
Shouldn’t it be that she was his girlfriend, so she came to take care of him?
How did it happen that he came to take care of him, because he was his brother’s best friend.
Bryan subconsciously realized that the little girl was angry because he had participated in a life–or–death race for someone else. He was about to explain, but as the words reached his lips, he felt that nothing he said would be appropriate.
Fortunately, Hailey didn’t ask him, so he changed the subject. “During this time, who came to visit me?”
“Your dozen friends, as well as the club’s manager.”
The smile on Bryan’s face slowly faded away, leaving only a cold expression.
But he still refused to give up, with a slight upturn of his lips, but no trace of amusement in his eyes, “Are they the only ones left?”
After seeing her nod, he suddenly turned cold, and didn’t speak for the rest of the morning.
Hailey knew who he was waiting for, but she didn’t speak up.
Bryan stayed in the hospital for a few days, and Hailey stayed by his side every step of the way.
On the day of discharge, he looked at her thin face and a hint of pity flashed in his eyes. “Hails, thank you for these days.”
Hailey picked up her luggage, her expression on her face was calm.
“No need to thank you. Since I came to study in Northvale, you have been entrusted by my brother to take care of me. Consider it as my way of repaying the favor. Although a few days cannot compare to several years, I don’t think I have caused you any trouble during my time in Northvale, so it should even out.”
This was already the second time she had left their relationship behind.
Listening to these words, Bryan always felt something was off and couldn’t help but glance at her.
“We were in a romantic relationship, so what’s the point of talking about gratitude? Don’t I still have to continue taking care of you in the future?”
Hailey avoided his gaze, her voice barely audible.
“There will be no more future.”
