10.Chapter 10
“If they gotta misunderstand, let them. What does it have to do with me?” Bowen sneered.
“No matter how much they misunderstand or hate me, in the end, they still have to beg me to come back and clean up the mess of the Weaver family, even begging me to take over the Weaver Group.”
Julius watched as the frosty aura around Bowen started to resurface, pursing his lips.
If it weren’t for the major decision–making blunder by Cameron’s father, Bowen wouldn‘ t have left his booming business abroad to come back and fix things.
Back then, rumors spread that Russell was disappointed in Cameron’s father, Ashton, and wanted to change the heir. Just as Bowen was forced to leave the country, Ashton suddenly met with a car accident and passed away.
Because of this incident, not only outsiders but even members of the Weaver family suspected that Ashton’s death was no accident but intentional, and Bowen, who later became the CEO of the Weaver Group, was deeply involved.
Among the loudest voices were Ashton’s wife and Bowen’s mother.
“Bowen, why does it have to be Laura?” Julius righted the chair and sat down again, his expression complicated as he looked at Bowen.
“We all know that Miss Laura Wison is head over heels for Cameron, and her engagement to Cameron was also approved by your father… So, are you finally disappointed with the Weaver family and want to get revenge?”
“The Weaver family is under my control now. What’s in it for me to get revenge on them?” Bowen smirked.
“But Laura is your nephew Cameron’s fiancée. Not only have you slept with her, but you also plan to marry her. What about Cameron… What do you expect him to do?” Julius’s expression showed slight disagreement.
“Yeah, over the years, due to his wonderful mother, Cameron has misunderstood you more and more deeply. But no matter what, he’s the only son of your brother, and weren’t you two supposed to be close?”
Julius and Bowen grew up together, so he naturally knew how Bowen used to be treated in the Weaver family.
When Bowen was born, his two older brothers were already married. During his childhood, apart from a few close companions like Julius, his playmates included his nephew Cameron, who was three years younger than him.
Compared to his older brothers by blood, Bowen felt like he had a closer relationship with Cameron.

It wasn’t until after his brother Ashton passed away that the two became increasingly distant.
Given that Bowen was now set to marry Laura, who was supposed to be Cameron’s fiancée, it was hard for Julius not to think of the darker implications.
“And Laura liked Cameron so much. She’s always been set on marrying no one but him…
.
The person who slept with you last night, was it really her?” Julius’s expression was
as complicated as a smeared palette of oil paints. “You didn’t force her, did you? You two didn’t have much contact. I just can’t figure out how you ended up together.
“That little girl has had it tough enough,” Julius sighed. “Bowen, no matter how complicated the internal strife in the Weaver family is, dragging that little girl in as a scapegoat… isn’t that a bit too much?”
Bowen’s face was getting darker and darker as Julius chattered on.
He didn’t defend himself but handed Julius the file first before you say anything.”
left by Marco. “Take a look at these
Julius took the file, pulled out the photos and documents inside, and after glancing through some of them, he was so angry he was trembling. “What is all this? That’s going too far!”
He shifted his gaze from the documents to Bowen’s expressionless face, muttering, “If it weren’t for the fact that Brielle’s illness was cured using the umbilical cord blood from Laura’s birth, I’d seriously question whether Laura is even biologically related to the Wilson family.
“Otherwise, why would she be treated like some sort of adopted tool in the Wilson family? Mr. and Mrs. Wilson are well–educated, but how can they be so clueless when it comes to their own children?
“Both were their flesh and blood. Even though Brielle’s health is poor and it’s hard to be fair, they can’t just ignore the other child like this, right? And Brielle… does she have some serious issues?
“I really can’t understand. Brielle is the biggest beneficiary of the entire Wilson family, and even her parents paid more attention to her and neglected Laura. Any other normal person, knowing their sister is a lifesaver and is neglected by their parents because of them, would feel sorry for their sister. But she…”
Julius couldn’t help but shiver as he looked at the documents in his hand. “Breaking her sister’s engagement, hiring people to frame her sister….
“Forget about how she might not be alive now without Laura, just based on them being biological sisters… Is this something a real older sister could do? Brielle is really crazy, too terrifying.”
He shook his head in disbelief. “She already has so much, yet she still targets Laura
like this. What is she after?”

“Jealousy,” Bowen replied while taking back the documents from Julius. “In her eyes, being biological sisters, while she’s been bedridden with illness, suffering endlessly, she sees Laura’s good health as the original sin.”
“Man, that’s some next–level crazy to have such a twisted thought.” Julius was shocked. “Her parents are pretty messed up, too.
“Their eldest daughter’s a piece of work, bullying the younger one like that, and they don’t care at all?
“And Cameron, I really can’t get over him. He’s got someone who genuinely likes him, yet he chooses to believe such obvious lies and even does that to the girl… He’s gonna regret it big time later!”
“Whether he regrets it or not is his business.” As Bowen listened to Julius’s rant, he put the documents back into the file bag. “Still think I’m forcing my nephew’s fiancée to marry me?”
“Misunderstanding, total misunderstanding!” Julius chuckled awkwardly. “Bowen, you aren’t forcing her; you’re saving her from the depths of misery.
“If she really got engaged to Cameron in three days, that’ll be a real descent into hell!”
At this point, he couldn’t help but ask, “Speaking of which, the engagement announcement between Laura and Cameron was already out. How are you gonna marry her now? Snip first and debate the merits later?”
“Well, someone will naturally create a chance for us,” Bowen sneered. “After all, Brielle isn’t one to stay quiet.”
“Uh…” Julius, observing Bowen’s composed demeanor, felt his curiosity peak once again. “Bowen, I have a question. Could you clear it up for me?
“Even though Laura was drugged last night, you could’ve just sent her to the hospital. Was there really a need to… you know?”
Bowen’s fingers paused slightly, a smile playing on his lips slowly. “Laura’s grandpa saved my father’s life. She’s so adorable. How could I just stand by?”
