Chapter 16
Grayson had collapsed at the hospital that day and remained unconscious for three full days. Upon waking, his assistant immediately informed him of these developments
Since they were using mental health to shield Evelyn from punishment by hiding
in a hospital, he decided to turn their strategy against them
He pulled strings to have Evelyn transferred from her comfortable facility to this remote, notoriously harsh psychiatric hospital
“Mr. Hart, today Miss Reed will receive double medication. The treatment method will be electroconvulsive therapy…”
A doctor reported today’s treatment schedule to him.]
Through the observation window, a nurse placed a handful of white pills before Evelyn. Her eyes contracted instantly, her hateful gaze burning. through the glass at Grayson.
“Grayson Hart, are you trying to kill me?!” She screamed hysterically, sweeping the white pills to the floor
she’d had enough!
She didn’t have any illness, yet was forced to take psychiatric medications daily.
The severe side effects tortured her body–in less than a week, her hair had begun falling out in clumps. All her life, she’d been pampered and adored.
How could she endure such torment?!
Evelyn’s psychological defenses were near collapse.
“I won’t take them! No electric shocks! Get out, all of you GET OUT!“]
She lunged off the bed, but at that moment, the door opened from outside Grayson entered, his face livid with rage, and kicked her hard.]
“AHH!
With a sharp ery, Evelyn clutched her stomach, curling up on the floor. “Grayson, how can you be so heartless?! What did I do wrong? I just loved you too much. I’ve loved you for over a decade. How can you treat me this way?” |||
Seeing no reaction from him, her fear intensified, and she desperately softened her approach, clutching his leg: “Please, Grayson, I know I’ve done wrong. Just let me out of here, and I’ll do anything you want!”
In that moment, Grayson slowly crouched down and gripped Evelyn’s chin with enough force to nearly dislocate her jaw
“Is that possible? Only if… you bring Aurora back to lifel
His tune was vicious “Evelyn Reed, you’re now a certified psychiatric patient. I’m merely helping you These daily repeated treatments won’t end Today or tomorrow! I want you to suffer endlessly for your crimes!”
With that, he released her chin, throwing her roughly to the floor
“Fine, Grayson Hart. Just wait. My family will find ine, and they won’t let you get away with this!”
Grayson laughed coldly. “Your Reed family is drowning in negative publicity, barely keeping their heads above water. And even if they find you, what then? I can still personally deliver you–to prison.”
Several nurses rushed in to restrain Evelyn, forcing her mouth open and shoving multicolored pills down her throat one by one.]
Evelyn struggled frantically, but soon the excruciating pain of electric shocks felt as if it would pierce through her heart.]
This therapy should have been administered under general anesthesia, but now she was forced to endure it fully conscious
Grayson listened impassively to the woman’s screams.
Until his phone vibrated “Mr. Hart, we’ve just found a ring in the crevice of the yacht deck.”
In that moment, Grayson’s face turned deathly pale, his voice shaking: “Wait for me. I’m coming right now!”
Three days later, at the suburban villa, Aurora, leaning on her walking cane, got into the Maybach parked in the courtyard.]]
This was her first outing since the incident
“Mr. Vaughn, I could have gone alone,” the felt somewhat nervous.
Today was her mother’s birthday. Soon, she would leave Manhattan likely never having another chance to visit that seaside again.
So she wanted one last look at the ocean where her mother rested.]
Little did she know this decision would trigger a series of unpredictable consequences[
