Vicious? After three years together, this is how he saw me? I was almost flattered by that assessment.
“So what does whatever she’s been through have to do with me?”
At this point, I looked at him indifferently.
Gabriel shook his head at me in disappointment
8:20 PM
“You’d better go out there today and clear this up, restore Rose’s reputation.”
“Otherwise… let’s call off our wedding!”
With that, Gabriel pulled Rose away just as he had arrived.
I stubbornly stood there watching until their figures disappeared through the doorway.
Then my whole body seemed to lose all strength, and I collapsed weakly into a chair.
This wasn’t even my doing, yet he wanted me to go explain on her behalf.
He was even willing to throw away three years of our relationship over an unverified accusation, casually saying “let’s call it off.”
This wedding wasn’t just a year of my hard work and planning. My parents were eagerly looking forward to this day too.
At this moment, something inside me seemed to completely shatter, spilling out along with my tears.
My coworkers gathered around, trying to comfort me.
“Lily, don’t cry. I’m sure Gabriel didn’t
really mean what he said.
“He must be under that woman’s spell. He’ll come to his senses.”
“Lily, don’t be sad. Your wedding will happen just as you’ve dreamed.”
I knew they meant well. After assuring them I was fine, I pulled myself together and got to work.
There wasn’t really anything to be sad about. i had just loved the wrong person, that’s all.
I listed out my tasks for the day and focused on my work until it was time to leave.
It was Friday, perfect timing for moving over the weekend.
I had already arranged online for my old place to be thoroughly cleaned.
Then I had all my belongings packed up and moved out of the home I shared with Gabriel.
Every trace of my existence in that house – I had it all erased.
When it comes to breakups, might as well make a clean break.
