“I was tricked by Jessie and ended up hurting you. I’ve already sent her to a mental hospital.
“Can you forgive me? We can go back to the way we were. I’ll help you with gardening and cooking, and you can come fishing or golfing with

“As long as you come back to me, we can have another child. If you don’t want to have one, we can adopt. I promise I’ll be a good husband and father.”
I waited coldly for his remorseful confession to finish.
I said, “It’s too late. You know exactly what you’ve done.”
Antonio bit his lip bitterly. “Grace, I really am sorry. I can swear on my life that I’ll be good to you for the rest of our lives.”
I questioned him, “How can we go back to the way we were?”
I scoffed. “I have scars all over my body from surgeries, and some of them will stay with me forever.”
“Do you really think we can turn back time?”
Just as I finished speaking, a childish voice called out from the side, “Mom, I’m here.”
I turned my head and saw Reyna in Trevin’s arms, beaming at me.
A gentle smile spread across my face as I opened my arms to embrace
them both.

“Reyna, why are you here?”

Reyna could only say a few words, and she was happily kissing my face.
Trevin let out a soft laugh and stroked my hair. “Reyna always wants to be with you. You’re always so charming.”
Antonio, standing nearby, was completely stunned, and his breathing seemed to stop for a moment.
After a long while, he managed to choke out in a hoarse and low voice, ‘Grace, how old is your daughter?”
Without even looking up, I replied calmly, “She’s one year old.”
He gasped in excitement, his eyes lighting up brightly.
“This is our daughter!”
Trevin sneered and stepped between Antonio, who was trying to get closer. “I’m Reyna’s father. Get away from us, you lunatic.”
Reyna glanced at Antonio and timidly nestled into Trevin’s arms.
She said, “Dad, I’m scared of this man. Can you send him away…”
Antonio’s face turned pale in an instant.
His lips quivered slightly, his eyes shifted, and finally, he let out a helpless sigh. “Grace, I’ve dreamt of our family of three’s life countless
times.
“You were making dinner in the kitchen, and I was playing with our daughter, but now I’ve fucked up everything.
“In the end, I’m all alone.
“I won’t disturb you anymore. I hope you’ll always be happy and safe and

I was silent for a long while, and then I said softly, “Donate it all to the welfare house.
“I find everything related to him repulsive.”
After hanging up the phone, I stood up and walked towards Trevin and Reyna by the poolside.
“You two are having so much fun! Reyna, let’s see who can swim faster?”
Looking at my daughter’s lovely smiling face, I slipped my hand into Trevin’s.
In the days ahead, I was certain our family would always be full of happiness.
