As I followed the man that I met in the hospital, I made sure to take in my surroundings so that I could attempt to get away once I gained enough strength to run again.
As we walked the man kept looking behind him, I assumed to ensure that I was still following him. He didn’t have to worry about me running away just yet as I was already running out of breath after five minutes of walking. If he noticed he never let on and for that I was grateful, I couldn’t handle much more human contact today and I could only hope that he understood that.
I figured that he would live in a pack house of some sort, but I wasn’t prepared for the absolute monster of a house that stood before me. This place was huge, it was like two of my old pack house put together and I was in awe.
I didn’t have much time to take in the house before five giant wolves jumped out and growled and bared their teeth at me. Before I had time to turn and run away, one of the smaller wolves leapt at me and if it wasn’t for the man pushing me out of the way, it could have easily ripped my head off.
My screams were drowned out by a deafening growl that came from the man.
“All of you stand down now! She is no threat.”
The wolves immediately shifted back and I saw that the wolf that tried to attack me was a beautiful girl that was glaring at me. The rest looked somewhat suspicious of me as I looked up at them from my position on the ground.
The man turned in my direction and slowly walked toward me. He reached out and pulled me from the ground, despite my flinching from him.
“Are you okay?”
I simply nodded at him, still a bit too shaken up to form words. He looked me over as if looking for any injuries and judging by the relieved look on his face he was satisfied with the results. He gestured for me to follow him back toward the group of people.
“Guys this is Amina.” He hesitated “She was rescued from the Ever Moon Pack. She is my special guest and she is to be treated well,”
In almost an instant the four boys were all smiles and for once they were directed at me. They all started to approach me at once and I took an immediate step back. They stopped dead in their tracks as their eyes glazed over, I looked up at the man and I saw that his were glazed over also, they must be mind linking one another. I watched as the boys focused back on me, still smiling.
A blonde boy spoke up first.
“Hi, I’m Jaxon.”
Two boys who looked similar with their shaved heads and dark skin spoke up
“I’m Tyler.”
“I’m Asher.” They spoke at the same time.
Tyler glared at Asher.
“We talked about this Asher, I’m older so I get to introduce myself first.”

“By five minutes Tyler, we’re twins so shut up. If I want to introduce myself first than I can.”
The two started to bicker after that, but I could tell they weren’t really angry at each other but I was still a bit wary of them, I didn’t like yelling. Just then a man with black hair and green eyes walked up to them and pushed their faces away.
“Will you two please shut the fuck up for once!”
I flinched back at his tone. He was serious. He reminded me of Alpha Tony. I didn’t like him very much. Once everyone had calmed down all eyes turned to the girl that had attacked me. After a few seconds of her not saying anything she shot me one last glare before she turned on her heels and stomped away. I heard the man growl lowly next to me and I took a small step away from him. I think he noticed because his eyes immediately went down to where I was standing and he let out an annoyed sigh. Good job Amina, you’re pissing him off already.
He looked at me for a moment then motioned for me to follow him to the pack house.
We entered through a set of giant wooden doors. There were people everywhere going about their business before bed I assumed. They all froze the moment I stepped through the door and growled at the unfamiliar scent.
Once again the man stood in front of me and spoke.
“Everyone stand down.”
He moved to the side so that I was now visible to everyone. I shrunk back under their stares.
“Everyone, this is Amina, my special guest. I expect her to be treated as a member, am I understood?”
There was a chorus of ‘yes‘ and many of them flashed me a warm smile while others went about their business, ignoring me completely. I didn’t respond in any way to them because I was fairly confused
about who this man was now more than ever.
The man once again started moving and I scrambled to keep up with him. He took me up several flights of stairs and I was a panting mess once we reached the top floor.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to go so fast, are you okay?”
I wasn’t, my chest felt like it was about to cave In and my legs and lungs were on fire, but I wasn’t going to tell him that, he might get angry. So instead of telling the truth I simply nodded, but I could tell he knew that I was lying. He just shook his head and continued walking to another set of double doors to the left of the staircase.
It looked like an apartment, I assumed that it took up the entirety of the top floor of this wing. Everything was modern with greys, blacks, and whites being the main theme of the rooms. There was a full
kitchen and what I assumed were several bedrooms in the back. The man’s delightful scent filled the space and I felt a calmness settle over me. I didn’t understand why I felt this way around him, I needed to

1 shook my head, but seconds later my stomach betrayed me when it let out a loud growl. The man let out a laugh and moved to the kitchen and gestured for me to sit at the breakfast bar. He pulled out the ingredients for what turned out to be pancakes eggs and bacon. He must have seen the confused look on my face because he chuckled lowly.
“Breakfast for dinner is my favorite. Have you ever had breakfast for dinner before?”
I didn’t really know if I had or not so I shook my head. He smiled gently at me.
“Well you’ll have some tonight”
He sat a plate that was overflowing with food in front of me and my eyes widened, I was never going to finish all of this. I looked over at him and he simply nodded at the plate, telling me to start eating, so I
did.
I had eaten less than a quarter of the food on my plate before I was frantically asking where the bathroom was. I ran as fast as I could before I was bent over the toilet, throwing up everything that I had eaten. I felt him pull my hair back and place his massive hands on my back, rubbing soothing circles while whispering encouragements in my ear.
Once I was done I felt physically drained and unable to move.
“Amina, let me help you get up, I promise all I’m going to do is take you to lie down, nothing else.”
I knew I wasn’t strong enough to pick myself up so I reluctantly nodded and he scooped me up bridal style and bought me to a room. His smell hit me like a truck, I assumed this was his room and I was proved right when he went to the dresser and pulled out a t–shirt after he sat me on the giant bed.
“I figured you would want to get out of that hospital gown, so you can wear this until we can get you some clothes.”
I grabbed the shirt, making sure I didn’t touch him in the process.
“You go ahead and change, I’ll go get you a glass of water.”
With that he left and I quickly shed his jacket and the hospital gown and replaced it with his shirt. I wasn’t sure what to do when I was done so I decided to make myself comfortable and got under the blankets, so that my legs weren’t on display. He came back right after that with a glass of water that he handed me. He sat on the edge of the bed, a little too close for comfort and started to speak.
“Are you comfortable?”
I nodded.
“I bet you have a lot of questions don’t you?”
Again, I nodded
“What would you like to know?”
I stayed quiet, thinking of something. I don’t know his name.
“Wh–what’s y–your name?” I quietly questioned.
“I didn’t realize I hadn’t told you. I’m Titus Lockwood.”
My face paled at his name. This was Titus Lockwood, the most feared man. Not only was he an alpha, he was the alpha of all alphas. He was the Alpha King
