They went to the elders.
Everyone saw the three snake children. They
were pure snake, with no naga blood.

having children, and now his wife had cheated
on him.
Holding the three snakes, the snake girl was a
mess, screaming.
“It’s because you can’t get it up that I had to
find someone else!”
“I slept with so many people, and none of you
nagas are real men! You can’t have kids, but
I’m the one getting tortured? Why?”

Why was I being dragged into this?
I was confused.
Corbin clenched his fists.
“That’s impossible! We’re the rulers of the sea.
You can’t say we can’t have kids! Stop spouting
nonsense, you!”
The snake girl laughed.
“You think I don’t know? You keep women in
the palace. Has any of them gotten pregnant?”
She sneered at Corbin. He used to love her, but
now he was cruel.
“Stop lying to yourself and blaming women. Are
You even a man?”

Corbin’s face paled.
I had only had a mudskipper last time, and
bunny girls were known for being fertile.
He didn’t want to admit it was his fault, so he
took his anger out on me and my poor child.
He was relieved when he heard the snake girl
was pregnant.
He was sure he was fine, and she would give
him naga children, and he would become beast
king.
But reality hit him hard.
The snake girl held up her snakes.
“The naga men are trash. They can’t have kids.
They deserve to die out, hahaha…”

She was going crazy. She had endured so
much, but it was all a joke.
Corbin was humiliated. He drew his sword and
went after the snakes.
The snake girl gasped and tried to protect the children, but it was too late. A white light flashed and knocked the sword to the ground.
Everyone stared at me.
I looked at the snake girl. She was looking at
me, and her eyes looked complex.
The baby was sleeping, not knowing what had
almost happened.
I remembered my dead child and felt pain.
“Cloud, how did you get powers?”
Corbin pointed his sword at me, but before he

and collapsed into Jasper’s arms.
He looked panicked. “Cloud, what’s wrong?”
“The baby… it’s coming…”
Everyone gasped.
No one cared about Corbin. Everyone was
waiting to see whose child it was.

Corbin snarled, “You dare laugh at me? I want
to see what kind of freak you give birth to!”
I was taken to the palace for the delivery.
Jasper tried to follow, but they stopped him.
He was desperate. I had never seen him so
upset, even when he was humiliated.
“Let me in! I want to be with her!”

Jasper pushed them aside and rushed in.
I was overwhelmed by pain. I felt warm hands
grabbing mine.
When I woke up, Jasper was sitting beside me,
eyes red.
He didn’t know what to do. He gently touched
my hair.
“You were great.”
I saw tears on his face and felt a warmth.
“I didn’t cry. Why are you crying?”
