I hoped she’d still be smug when she found out
Corbin was impotent and he locked her away.
Annoyed by my lack of reaction, she snarled.
“Cloud, you chose the eagle clan, but you’re
trying to seduce my husband! You’re nothing
but trailer trash. bunny blood is nasty.”

I was confused. “What are you talking about?
When did I try to seduce Corbin?”
The snake girl raged, “Don’t play dumb. Why
else would he call out your name in bed?”
She unleashed her snake tail, lashing out. I
jumped back. The tail slammed into a tree.
The snake girl yelped. A familiar figure rushed
over and caught her.
With a flick of his hand, Corbin sent me flying,
heading for the jagged rocks.
But I landed in strong arms.
Jasper caught me, worry etched on his face.
“Are you okay?”
Holding the crying snake girl, Corbin glared at
- me. “Cloud, do you want to die? How dare you

“Think about it. She missed, and hurt herself.”
Jasper frowned. “There are cameras in the
hunting grounds. We can check the tapes to
see who’s responsible.”
The snake girl hid in Corbin’s arms, whining,
“She’s just jealous that I can have kids. She
said she’s going to make sure you don’t have
kids either!”
That hit Corbin hard. He snapped. “Bitch! How
dare you curse me!”
He swung at me, putting all his force into it.
But the strike was neutralized by a gentle
breeze just inches away from me.
Corbin stared, surprised that Jasper could block
him so easily. But he still didn’t take him
seriously.

He thought I was useless. The only reason I had
a mudskipper last time was because he was
strong.
The eagle clan was washed up. No matter how
skilled Jasper was, he couldn’t have kids, and
would be left as a stepping stone for others to
climb.
Corbin sneered. “Jasper, don’t take it
personally, but the eagle clan is doomed. Don’t
think marrying a bunny will change your fate!”
Jasper remained calm.
“Cloud is my wife, not a tool for breeding. I
didn’t marry her to have kids.”
Corbin couldn’t understand, didn’t believe it. He
scoffed and walked away with the snake girl.
I watched him, wanting to laugh.

Last time, I found a secret scroll before being thrown into the abyss. It predicted the naga
clan’s doom and how to break the eagle clan
curse.
It was our bunny clan secret technique.
The bunny clan might be weak, but it was one of the four ancient clans. Now, only the bunny and eagle clans were left. The curse and secret technique were linked. Together, they could
break the curse and improve our power.
That’s why Jasper was able to block the attack.
That’s why I married into the eagle clan.
I would destroy the naga and bear clan dreams.
I would get revenge for what they did to me last
time.

shouldn’t have left you alone. Are you hurt?”
I shook my head, remembering what he said
earlier. I felt a flutter in my chest.
“You really didn’t marry me for children?”
Jasper froze, blushing.
“I’ve accepted my fate of not having kids.”
“Cloud, I married you because you’re you.”

After that, Jasper and I grew closer. His powers
soared.
He was meant to rule the skies, but the curse
had held him back.
I felt a growing power inside me, especially in
my stomach. It felt warm, like something was
moving.

The bear clan leader was unhappy that his fox
bride could only have one baby at a time. He was planning to get another wife.
The naga leader and his bride had a big fight. He was mad she hadn’t gotten pregnant.
To keep him, the snake girl started trying every possible method to get pregnant.
Everyone went from being jealous to feeling
sorry for us, thinking we were smart to avoid the drama.
“At least we won’t be punished for not having
kids.”
Jasper looked guilty.
