Beastly Chaos
Chapter 1
My best friend, Bethany, and I woke up reliving
the day we were chosen as breeder bunnies for
the beast–men. Last time around, she was
picked by Brock, the bear clan leader.
They wanted to grow their clan, aiming to rule
all the beast territories.
Soon after their wedding, Bethany was popping
out little bear cubs like crazy.
I, on the other hand, was chosen by Corbin, the
naga leader. But even after being married for
ages, my belly stayed flat.
I went through hell. I finally managed to get
pregnant using a secret bunny technique, but all
that came out was a tiny, human–shaped,
mudskipper.
<
Corbin, enraged, chopped its head off with his
sword. I was tossed into the freezing abyss, left
to drown.
Bethany, stuck in a cycle of constant childbirth
and forced intimacy with the burly bear clan,
was also tortured to death.
Now, reborn, we were back at the beast–men
selection ceremony.
Corbin immediately chose Bethany.
But she refused without hesitation.
“I won’t marry him!” Bethany shouted.
Everyone turned to me.
“If she’s not marrying him, then neither am I!”

I blinked, and Bethany and I were back at the
beast–men choosing ceremony.
Seeing Bethany clutch her stomach in terror, I
knew she remembered everything too.
We were just bunny girls, low in status. We didn’t have strong claws or sharp fangs, so we had to scrape by, always at risk of becoming
prey.
To help our clan, the bunny elders sent Bethany and me to this ceremony.
A beast–man’s status depended on how many
kids he had. More kids meant a stronger clan,
better fighting power. So everyone was focused
on pumping out babies, hoping to become the
king of all beasts.
Bunnies weren’t much, except that we could get
pregnant easily, which the other beast–men
found appealing.

Last time, Bethany, pretending to be noble, picked the bear clan over the wealthy nagas.

She claimed the bear clan fought to protect the beast territories, and as a citizen under their protection, she had to help them out.
I knew she just wanted to look good.
Corbin took me as a second choice. After all, bunny girls were known for being fertile.
But when he saw Bethany having baby after baby, raising the bear clan’s status, and my belly stayed flat, he lost patience. He tossed me into a cave, where I was used to breed with all the mermen.
Bethany didn’t fare much better. After the bear clan leader’s initial affection, she became a baby–making machine, constantly pregnant, and eventually died from being stretched too far.

To escape that hell, I used a family technique to get pregnant. But all I delivered was a
mudskipper. Corbin went ballistic, called me a cursed omen, and beheaded the mudskipper.
Then he threw me out of the palace, into the
bottomless abyss.
Without the naga barrier, I sank like a normal
bunny, my lungs filling with icy water, drowning
- me.
“Cloud, what are we going to do?” Bethany
grabbed my hand, talking about how much she
regretted it. “Brock is an animal. I can’t go
through that again!”
Remembering what happened, I felt cold all
over.
“Corbin is a monster too. We can’t let them get
us this time.”
“We’ll fight for our own way out, and make
those who hurt us pay!”
Soon, a beast–slave came to take us to the
choosing hall.
“Corbin, Bethany is your intended bride.”
The beast elder frowned, looking at Corbin, the
naga leader, and then at Brock, the bear leader,
waiting nearby.
I saw Corbin holding the marriage invitation,
staring at Bethany with burning expectation.
“I want Bethany. I’ll only marry her!”
I realized, he remembered everything too.
Brock’s face changed. He also clearly preferred
the curvy Bethany over the thin me, since fuller
women were better for childbirth.
But Corbin wouldn’t budge.
<
He wouldn’t want me, the “cursed omen.” He
was like a shark smelling blood, set on marrying fertile Bethany.
He thought I was the reason for not having kids.
But everyone knew bunny girls were born to
breed.
It was because the naga clan was dying out, all
the men’s energy was fading. I had to use my
family’s secret technique, enduring terrible pain,
just to get pregnant with that mudskipper.
But Corbin killed the naga’s last chance at life.
“Bethany, the nagas have endless treasures,
more wealth than anyone. They live safely in the
water, without enemies. Will you be my bride?”
